Villanova has all that it takes for a long March Madness run.

Villanova vs DePaul Free Pick

Written by on February 8, 2016

As we head into the final few weeks of the season, the teams that are sitting in the top 25 know that they need one more push in order to get a favorable draw once March Madness begins. The Villanova Wildcats are currently #3 in the country, and they have a pretty good chance of staying there, as they only have one more ranked team to play before the season ends. They will start this week off with what looks like a very winnable game versus the DePaul Blue Demons at the AllState Arena in Rosemont. Our online sportsbook NCAAB betting page will have all the latest odds for this one as they become available.

How to bet Villanova Vs DePaul Game and TV Information

When: Tuesday, February 9, 8:30 PM EST Where: AllState Arena, Rosemont, Illinois TV: FS1
The odds for this one are probably going to reflect that this should be a pretty straightforward win for the Wildcats as they are highly ranked and are coming off a win vs the also ranked Providence. The play to go with here is probably either the spread or the point total, unless of course you want to pad your bankroll a little with a safer straight up bet on Villanova.

Why bet on the Villanova Wildcats

The Wildcats (20-3, 10-1) are coming off a very nice 72-60 revenge victory over Providence, who just happen to be the only team to have taken down Villanova in conference play. That win now takes the current winning streak of the Wildcats to 3 games, and very much puts them in the driver’s seat atop the Big East Conference. The 3 losses that the Wildcats have taken this season have all come at the hands of ranked opponents, which would suggest that they should have little difficulty dispatching the Blue Demons. The only real danger is that they may let their guard down a little after the big win versus Providence. The Wildcats are averaging 75.4 PPG, and are giving up 61.0 PPG.

Why bet on the DePaul Blue Demons

On paper, the Blue Demons (8-15, 2-9) do not look like much of a threat to Villanova, but they have come up with a couple of wins this season that suggest they not be taken too lightly. They took down the Providence Friars last week, and also had a win over a ranked George Washington team back in late December. Yes, they have had a number of losses to ranked opponents this season, but it is those two wins that should make Villanova take pause and not simply overlook this game. If I am being realistic here, though, this is a game that should see the home team simply overwhelmed by a much better team. The Blue Demons are averaging 68.6 PPG, and are giving up 73.5 PPG.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

While this has the potential of being a trip-up game for the Villanova Wildcats, I just don’t see them falling at this hurdle. This is one that I believe they will win in rather comfortable fashion. Villanova Wildcats 78 DePaul Blue Demons 60
