NCAA Basketball Parlay Picks for Week 11
Loyola-Chicago at Evansville
For the first time this season, the Loyola Ramblers are in the AP Top 25 Poll. They come in at #22 this week as they get ready for a conference matchup with the Evansville Purple Aces. For Loyola, it has been an unbelievable start to the season. It has been the exact opposite for Evansville.
Under first-year head coach Drew Valentine, the Ramblers are picking up right where they left off with a 13-2 start and a 4-0 start in the Missouri Valley. The last four games for Loyola have been hairy down the stretch, but they managed to win every single close game lately. The Ramblers are on a 10-game winning streak coming into this game.
Evansville has fallen so far since winning at Kentucky just two years ago. After firing Walter McCarty, it has gone downhill for the Purple Aces, now under control by Todd Lickliter. While Coach Lickliter has had success at other schools, that has not been the case so far at Evansville. This year, the Purple Aces are 4-11 with an 0-4 conference record. They are only averaging 60.5 points per game and have struggled to compete in many games.
Loyola enters the game as a 12.5 point favorite. This is a game that Loyola will easily win and easily cover. The Purple Aces are coming off a very bad performance against the Bradley Braves last week, where they lost by 32. The Ramblers will cover the 12.5 points.
Wisconsin at Northwestern
This matchup is very interesting because it is looking like a trap game for Wisconsin on the road at Northwestern. The Badgers have skyrocketed up the rankings to #8 this week. The Badgers are off to a great start this year. Northwestern has had a rough start to the conference season but got a big win this last weekend.
Wisconsin comes into this game with a 14-2 record and they are 5-1 in Big Ten play. The Badgers have won their last six and four of those games have been conference games. The latest win for the Badgers was last Thursday over Ohio State. Johnny Davis has been the story of the year so far for the Badgers, averaging 21.7 points per game.
Northwestern has had a shaky start to the season, but a big win this last weekend may turn the tide for the Wildcats. Northwestern has started 9-6 on the season with a 2-4 conference record. The Wildcats had previously lost their last four games, before beating Michigan State on the road. They had just recently lost to Michigan State, and the win this last weekend was without their best player, Pete Nance.
Pete Nance has led the way this year scoring-wise for the Wildcats with 17.1 points per game. He also leads Northwestern in rebounds averaging 7.7 per game. Nance will be the key to this team’s success if they have any. The Wildcats will be looking to play spoiler this week against Wisconsin.
As mentioned earlier, it is surprising to see a small spread margin and for many people taking Northwestern to win at home. Based on the two starts by both teams, this is a game that Wisconsin should win. With a two-point spread currently, this is a game we feel confident that the Badgers will win and cover.
Duke at Florida State
The last game in our parlay picks of the week is a showdown in the ACC. Two of the top teams will battle it out, looking to make a statement win to add on their resumes. The Duke Blue Devils will travel to Tallahassee, Florida to take on the Florida State Seminoles.
This season will go down as one of the most memorable seasons in the Blue Devils history. This is the final season of Mike Krzyzewski as the head coach of the Duke basketball team. Coach K will retire after this season and hand the keys to Jon Scheyer. This season has been special so far for Duke, being led by freshman phenom Paolo Banchero. He leads the team in points and rebounds per game, with 17.9 and 7.4 respectively.
For Florida State, they come in as winners in their last four of five games. The lone loss coming to Wake Forest in those five games. The Seminoles hold a record of 10-5 on the season with a 4-2 conference record. This is one of two matchups on the season against Duke. Caleb Mills leads Florida State in points and assists per game.
Duke comes in as five-point favorites and this is a game that the Blue Devils can win and cover. Duke has won by double digits in seven of their last nine games. Duke has only played two games on the road this year, and one game was where they blew a lead late at Ohio State. Duke will have a tough road test at Florida State this week.
