NCAAB 2020 Top Games to Watch from Dec. 25th to 26th

With the 2020-21 college basketball season rolling right along as it navigates the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it’s time to find out which games have the look of ‘must-see TV’ matchups this coming weekend.

Seven nationally ranked title hopefuls are in action with two matchups featuring a pair of Top 20 national championship hopefuls. Now, let’s find out which teams are on the hardwood this weekend and which ones look like they are offering the best betting value against their College Basketball odds.

NCAA Basketball – Top Games to Watch This Weekend

No. 9 Wisconsin (7-1) at No. 12 Michigan State (6-1)

  • Where: Breslin Center, East Lansing, MI
  • When: Friday, December 25 at 12:30 PM ET

The ninth-ranked Wisconsin Badgers (3-4-1 ATS) will look to extend their four-game winning streak when they go on the road to take on 12th-ranked Michigan State. The Spartans (2-5 ATS) will be going all-out to get back in the win column after suffering their first loss of the season by getting spanked at Northwestern 79-65 on Sunday. Wisconsin is ranked a stellar 15th nationally in points allowed (57.5 ppg).

No. 19 Michigan (6-0) at Nebraska (4-4)

  • Where: Pinnacle Bank Arena, Lincoln, NE
  • When: Friday, December 25 at 6:00 PM ET
  • TV: BTN

Nineteenth-ranked Michigan will look to remain unbeaten after taking down Penn State 62-58 in a thriller on Dec. 13. Unranked Nebraska has dropped three of its last four including consecutive losses against nationally ranked opponents. The Cornhuskers lost to No. 9 Wisconsin 67-53 on Tuesday night and shoots a pitiful 42.5 percent from the field (236th) while Michigan ranks 17th nationally in shooting percentage (51.6%).

No. 4 Iowa (7-1) at Minnesota (7-1)

  • Where: Williams Arena, Minneapolis, MN
  • When: Friday, December 25 at 8:00 PM ET
  • TV: BTN

Iowa is ranked fourth nationally and has a legitimate superstar in rugged big man Luka Garza (28.4 ppg, 9.1 rpg). The Hawkeyes will look to record consecutive victories after routing Purdue 70-55 on Tuesday night, three days after they lost to No.1 Gonzaga 99-88. Minnesota is off to a 7-1 start, but the Gophers have recorded six of their wins against inferior competition. Minnesota got past St. Louis 90-82 on Sunday, but the Gophers got blown out in their previous game against nationally ranked Big Ten rival Illinois 92-65.

No. 1 Gonzaga (6-0) at No. 16 Virginia (4-1)

  • Where: Dickies Arena, Fort Worth, TX
  • When: Saturday, December 26 at 4:00 PM ET
  • TV: CBS

Top-ranked Gonzaga remained unbeaten after recording back-to-back wins over Northwestern State on Monday and Tuesday nights. No. 16 Virginia has won three straight since suffering its only loss of the season. The Cavaliers thoroughly dominated William and Mary 76-40 on Tuesday night. Virginia added this game to its schedule after having four games canceled because of COVID-19.

Indiana (5-2) at No. 18 Illinois (5-3) at 4:00 PM ET

  • Where: State Farm Center, Champaign, IL
  • When: Saturday, December 26 at 4:00 PM ET

Unranked Indiana will look to record its third straight win after getting past Butler 68-60 in a tight matchup on Saturday. 18th-ranked Illinois might have a true superstar in combo guard Ayo Dosunmu (22.6 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 5.3 apg), but the Fighting Illini’ have alternated wins and losses over its last six games. Illinois was on the wrong end of a crushing 91-88 road loss against 11th-ranked Rutgers on Sunday.
