Games to Look at for NCAAB Betting this Week

#2 North Carolina at #16 Louisville, Monday, February 01, 2016

The Tar Heels (19-2, 8-0 ACC) are enjoying their best league start in 15 years, which isn’t much of a surprise, given the way they have been taking care of business in the NCAAB odds. That said, Monday’s trip to No. 16 Louisville (17-4, 6-2) marks the start of a three-game road swing, something that will be a big test for UNC, having faced no team ranked in the AP Top 25 through their first eight ACC games. Furthermore, after shooting at least 45 percent in their first 17 games to rank among the nation’s most lethal offensive teams, they’ve failed to crack 40 percent in three of their last four games (against North Carolina State, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech). Meanwhile, preseason ACC co-player of the year Marcus Paige has been struggling with his shooting touch. Still, Louisville equally has troubles of its own, coming off a horrendous game against Virginia where the Cavs held Louisville was held to 32 percent shooting (16-for-49). Louisville also committed 18 turnovers in that losing effort, with the potent duo of Damion Lee and Trey Lewis totaling just 10 points. The Tar Heels should thus be able to get the win this Monday, though with Louisville keeping the scores real close. SU Pick: North Carolina

TCU at #1 Oklahoma, Tuesday, February 2, 2016

At this rate, we are soon going to run out superlatives to describe Buddy Hield, Oklahoma’s superstar and the nation’s best player. This guy is ridiculously shooting above 50 percent both from the field and from three and over 90 percent from the free throw line, while impressively averaging 26.2 points per game. Against the struggling Horned Frogs (10-11, 1-7 Big 12), Hield and the Sooners should be able to run a riot, most probably winning by 15-plus points in a highly one-sided affair. SU Pick: Oklahoma

#9 West Virginia at #14 Iowa State, Tuesday, February 2, 2016

The Mountaineers (17-4) and the Cyclones (16-5) will be embroiled in a fierce game-of-the- week contender this Wednesday. Both teams are coming off defeats in their previous games, so you can expect both teams to be rallied up for a strong performance that will most likely feature several lead changes. I like how West Virginia’s Jaysean Paige has elevated his game, but I have a strong feeling that Georges Niang (19 PPG) and Co. will have the last laugh in this game. SU Pick: Iowa State

Kansas State at #4 Kansas, Thursday, February 4, 2016

Kansas is on course for its 12th straight Big 12 title, led by a strong performance from Perry Ellis (16.3 PPG, 6.6 RPG), but the team is far from having it easy in the Big 12, where the Jayhawks already have three conference losses in the eight Big 12 games they’ve played so far. Meanwhile, their state rivals, the Wildcats, are having it worse, with a 2-6 record in conference play and an overall 13-8 record. So, whereas Kansas State has players like Wesley Iwundu and Justin Edwards who will make this game interesting and probably keep the game close, the Jayhawks should be able to find a way of eventually claiming the win. SU Pick: Kansas

#6 Villanova at #10 Providence, Saturday, February 6, 2016

The Friars are having a great season, thanks to the improved play of Ben Bentil, who is averaging a team-best 20 points per game after posting just 6.4 PPG last season. And there has been a lot of help too, with Kris Dunn being the only player in the country averaging at least 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds per game. If these two players can get it going early against Villanova, the #10 Friars will have a good chance of upsetting the #6 Wildcats again after topping them in OT barely a week ago. SU Pick: Providence

Florida at #20 Kentucky, Saturday, February 6, 2016

This year’s version of Kentucky is a very beatable one, and it just so happens that the Gators have an appetite for delivering upsets this year. In their last outing, the Gators secured a resounding 88-71 upset win over the #9 West Virginia, something that will see them play with a lot of confidence against Kentucky. It won’t be easy to stop the likes of Jamal Murray and Tyler Ulis from shining in their home court, but given the way the Gators are banging hard on the boards with 41.6 rebounds per game (15th-best in the nation), the visitors may just surprise the NCAA basketball odds with another unlikely win. SU Pick: Florida

#21 Purdue at #8 Maryland, Saturday, February 6, 2016

Player of the Year candidate Melo Trimble and the Terrapins are a must-watch this year, while the Boilermakers (who’ve won five of their last six games and have lost just four times this year) have done more than enough to show that they are here for the long haul. If it were any other team, I’d say Purdue has a chance to claim the win, but against the hard-balling Maryland team that is yet to lose at home this year, your best bet would be to go with the Terps for the near-sure. SU Pick: Maryland
