Top Underdogs For Saturday’s College Basketball (Feb. 18th)

Written by on February 17, 2017

As is always the case during the regular season, we have a jam-packed college basketball schedule to look forward to this Saturday. Several of the top-ranked teams in the nation will be in action, but the big question is whether they will all come away with the win. We are drawing ever closer to March Madness, and this is the time when teams can start to get a little tight as they try to jockey for the best ranking possible. Let’s look at some of the games on tap for Saturday to see if we can identify a few teams that might be able to cause an upset, or at least cover the college basketball point spread.

Top Underdogs For Saturday’s College Basketball (Feb. 18th)

Florida Gators at Mississippi State Bulldogs

This may seem like a strange choice given that both of these teams are heading in opposite directions, but I am specifically looking at the ATS bet on this one. Mississippi State Bulldogs have only won 3 of their last 10 games SU, but they have been able to cover the spread on a consistent basis this season, especially in their own building. In fact, the Bulldogs are 7-4 ATS this season, which gives them the best winning percentage in the SEC. Florida are hot right now, and will almost certainly win this one, but I like the Bulldogs to cover here.

Colorado Buffaloes at Oregon Ducks

The #7 ranked Oregon Ducks have only dropped 4 games this season, but one of those defeats came at the hands of this Colorado Buffaloes team. While that game was played in Colorado where you would expect the home team to have the edge, it could well be viewed as a sign that Colorado just knows how to beat this team. The Buffaloes have not been particularly great on the road, especially ATS, where they are just 3-7-1. That aside, I think they have what it takes to cause another upset here.

USC Trojans at UCLA Bruins

The USC Trojans looked set to crack the top 25 this week, but a loss to Oregon may have set them back a little. They have a shot at getting some of their mojo back by picking up a win against their big rivals. The good news for the Trojans is that they already have a win over the Bruins this season, although getting a win on the road may be a little tougher. Let’s keep in mind, though, that the Trojans have a very impressive 6-2 record, so there is a better than average chance that they might be able to get something out of this one.

These are just 3 games from a packed Saturday schedule, and we are sure that if you dig a little deeper, you will find several more where an upset may be on the cards. Things have been a little up and down for ranked teams this season, and we are seeing more parity this year than in quite some time, so there is money out there just waiting to be won.
