2019 College Football Week 12 ATS Betting Picks

Written by on November 12, 2019

As we wait for the college football playoff committee to come out with their next set of rankings, we already know that there are going to be some changes at the top. With LSU taking out Alabama and Penn State losing to Minnesota, we can safely assume that at least one or two new teams will be cracking the top 4. It’s probably a decent guess that the LSU Tigers will be in as the new #1, as winning on the road in Alabama will surely be enough to show the committee that they are indeed the best team in the country at this time.

While we wait for it all to play out, we can look ahead to Week 12 to see of we can come up with some NCAAF Betting picks. Let’s get the ball rolling with some ATS plays.

2019 College Football Week 12 ATS Betting Picks

Alabama Crimson Tide (-21) at Mississippi State Bulldogs

As we mentioned at the top of this piece, Alabama are likely to be licking their wounds after a tough loss to LSU in what was an instant classic. This is not a team that likes to sit around and wallow in self-pity, though, so I don’t expect there to be any type of hangover this coming Saturday.

Sure, a trip to the SEC Championship Game now seems like a longshot, but Alabama needs to keep winning in case the Tigers slip up coming down the stretch. I have a feeling that the Mississippi State Bulldogs are going to feel like a bit of a punching bag on Saturday, as I like the Tide to win big and cover.

College Football Week 12 Betting Trends

  • Crimson Tide are 4-8 ATS in their last 12 games
  • Crimson Tide are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games played in week 12
  • Bulldogs are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games this season
  • Bulldogs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against an opponent in the Southeast conference

Kentucky Wildcats (-9) at Vanderbilt Commodores

With time running out on the regular season, the Kentucky Wildcats are also running out of chances to become bowl eligible. At 4-5 on the season, they still need 2 wins to get themselves into the Bowl Game mix, and even though they are on the road this weekend, you still need to like their chances against a very poor Vanderbilt Commodores team.

Kentucky are not traditionally a good ATS pick in November, covering just once in their last 6, but overall, they are 8-3 ATS in their last 11, so I like them to cover on Saturday.

College Football Week 12 Betting Trends

  • Wildcats are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games against Vanderbilt
  • Wildcats are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games played in week 12
  • Commodores are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games
  • Commodores are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against an opponent in the Southeast conference

Virginia Tech Hokies (-5 ½) at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The ACC Coastal Division is currently being controlled by the Virginia Cavaliers, but the Hokies still have a shot at making a run at the top and landing themselves a date on the Conference Championship Game against the Clemson Tigers. They need to win out, though, and that starts this weekend with a road trip to Atlanta to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who are having a pretty awful season.

The Hokies have covered in 4 of their last 5, while the Yellow Jackets are 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall. I like the Hokies to win and cover.

College Football Week 12 Betting Trends

  • Hokies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games
  • Hokies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games played on a Saturday
  • Yellow Jackets are 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 games
  • Yellow Jackets are 10-3 SU in their last 13 games played in week 12

South Carolina Gamecocks at Texas A&M Aggies (-10 ½)

After springing one of the upsets of the season with a road win over the Georgia Bulldogs, the Gamecocks have gone in the tank, losing 3 of their last 4 games. Next up for them is a visit to the Texas A&M Aggies, a team that they haven’t beaten in 5 attempts.

On the plus side, they were able to cover the spread in 3 of those 5 games, but they look to be in tough against an Aggies team on a 3-game win streak. The Aggies are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games, but I think they win and cover against a Gamecocks team heading in the wrong direction.

College Football Week 12 Betting Trends

  • Gamecocks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games played in November
  • Aggies are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games
  • Aggies are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games played on a Saturday
