NCAAF 2020 Season Week 9 O/U Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on October 27, 2020

By the time we reach this stage of the college football season, we usually have a clear idea of the teams that are likely to be in the playoffs. With the conferences all starting at different times this season, the playoff teams are not quite as obvious as usual. Certainly, Alabama and Clemson look to be as dominant as ever, but given the number of surprises we have already witnessed this year, rounding put that top 4 is not quite so easy. That is especially true when you consider that the Big Ten just started their season last week. There are more than likely going to be a couple of teams that emerge from there over the coming weeks. For now, we are taking things week by week, which means starting to make out picks for Week 9. With that in mind, let’s get to our O/U selections for this coming weekend so you can bet on their NCAAF odds.

O/U Picks Week 9 | 2020 NCAA Football Betting

Georgia Bulldogs at Kentucky Wildcats (OVER 42 ½)

The Georgia Bulldogs are sure to still be licking their wounds after blowing a half-time lead against the Alabama Crimson Tide a couple of weeks ago. The second half of that game saw the Bulldogs make several errors, while the defense found it impossible to stem the Tide. They are coming into this one off a bye week and should have ironed out some of the kinks. This game is a perfect opportunity for the to get their mojo back against a Kentucky team that is just 2-3 on the season at the moment. Both of these teams have been trending towards the under, but there is one trend that sticks out that is leading me in the other direction. For Georgia, the OVER has hit in 5 of their last 6 games versus teams with a losing record.

Boston College Eagles at Clemson Tigers (OVER 60 ½)

When you have an offense that is absolutely on fire, the bookies tend to make the point total one that makes a lot of bettors nervous. At any given time, Clemson could easily roll and hit the point total on their own, but you also need to consider that they might take the foot off the gas and start resting key players late in games that have turned into a blowout. The Tigers have scored 41 points or more in each of their last 5 games, while Boston College are coming off a win over Georgia Tech where they dropped 48 points. It’s not too much of a stretch to imagine that these two could combine to cover the 60 ½ point total, which is why I am all about the OVER in this one.

Texas Longhorns at Oklahoma State Cowboys (OVER 58 ½)

If it’s offensive football that you love, then you probably already know that Big 12 matchups are a good place to start when looking for a ton of points. That said, in the last 10 meetings between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma State Cowboys, we have seen things lean more towards the under, with 6 of the 10 going in that direction. I am going against that trend this weekend, though, as I think we are om for some points. If you look at Texas, you see that 4 of their last 5 games have gone OVER, while 7 of the last 8 that Oklahoma State has played Texas at home have gone that way, too.
