They are still an unbeaten team, but it is the nature of those wins that has seen them fall off. A usually stable program is a little wobbly at the moment and they have what could be a very tricky little trip to North Carolina this weekend to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Tigers need a big performance to get back on track and impress the committee, which will likely mean winning and covering the 17-point spread.

Why bet on the Clemson Tigers?
The Clemson Tigers have now had a couple of great escapes this season, which has not helped their national ranking. The first came a few weeks ago at College Station, where they needed more than a little luck to get past the Texas A&M Aggies. They also barely escaped last week, scoring late to beat the Syracuse Orange, the team that upset them last season, at home.
The Tigers now also have a bit of a QB issue, as Trevor Lawrence left last week’s game with an injury. They no longer have the cushion of Kelly Bryant, as he transferred out after losing the starting job to Lawrence. Clemson has won 5 of their last 6 games when playing on the road against Wake Forest, but they have not been so good ATS, going 2-6 in their last 8 in Winston Salem.

The Demon Deacons snapped a two-game losing skid with a big win over Rice last weekend. In fairness, their losses were not totally awful, as they came against Boston College and Notre Dame, with Wake Forest starting both of those as the underdog.
As we mentioned earlier, this is a team that has performed well ATS when playing Clemson at home, but they have not been a very good cover bet of late, going just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games, which includes a 1-4 record this season.
