College Football Nebraska At Indiana Week 7 Expert Predictions

Written by on October 13, 2016

The Indiana Hoosiers will look to hand the unbeaten No. 10 Nebraska Cornhuskers their first loss of the season when they host their Big Ten rivals in an intriguing Week 7 matchup on Saturday. Now, let’s find out which team is offering the most betting odds value in this Big Ten battle.

A Closer Look At The College Football Cornhuskers At Hoosiers Week 7 Expert Predictions

When: Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 3:30 PM ET Where: Memorial Stadium TV: ABC Live Stream: ABC Live Stream NCAAF Odds: Indiana Hoosiers +3.5

Bet The Nebraska Cornhuskers at -3.5 Because…

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are simply better in all three phases of the game. Nebraska (5-0 SU, 3-1-1 ATS) will look to move to 6-0 following their emphatic 31-16 win over Illinois two weeks ago. For the season, senior signal-caller Tommy Armstrong Jr. is completing 58.9 percent of his passes for 1,151 yards with nine touchdowns and just two interceptions. Receivers Alonzo Moore and Jordan Westerkamp have combined for 538 receiving yards and six touchdowns while running back Terrell Newby leads the rushing attack with 327 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Nebraska is limiting its opponents to just 17.6 points per game.

Bet The Indiana Hoosiers at +3.5 Because…

The Hoosiers are motivated after getting pounded the last time out. Indiana (3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS) got pounded in their 38-17 Week 6 loss to Ohio State and has just two wins over ranked teams since the 2012 season. Quarterback Richard Lagow is completing 60 percent of his passes for 1,460 yards, 11 touchdowns, but has also tossed seven costly interceptions. Lagow has tossed two or more touchdown passes in four straight games. Receivers Nick Westbrook and Ricky Jones have combined for 827 receiving yards and five touchdowns while running back Devine Redding has rushed for a team-high 491 yards on 105 carries. Defensively, Indiana is allowing 25.0 points per game.

Expert Prediction and Pick

I have absolutely no idea why the Nebraska Cornhuskers are favored by just 3.5 points, but hey, I say hey, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth …just take the ‘free’ Week 7 win. Not only is Nebraska superior to Indiana in all three phases of the game, but the Cornhuskers have gone 12-3 ATS in their last 15 road games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. I know the Hoosiers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS win and 5-0 ATS in their last five conference games, but Nebraska is playing its best football in years, mostly because quarterback Tommie Frazier has stopped turning the ball over like it’s going out of style. Now, with Frazier playing mostly mistake-free football, Nebraska is back on the map in a big way and I just don’t see a team like Indiana derailing their playoff hopes no matter how hard I try to picture the Hoosiers getting the upset win. The most likely scenario in this Week 7 Big Ten battle is that Nebraska wins this contest by at least a touchdown to easily cover the college football betting line!

My Pick: Nebraska 31 Indiana 21
