The 2021 College Football Playoff is set. A couple of teams that we knew from the beginning had an awesome chance of making the playoff. Two other squads, though, were borderline participants until the CFP selection committee announced the participants on Sunday. Check out the four teams that will battle for the NCAAF National Championship as well as controversy surrounding one of the participants. That said, let’s get right to it so you can make your bets against their NCAAF odds.

Alabama secures SEC title for top spots in College Football Playoff
The Alabama Crimson Tide headed into the season a relative lock to win the National Championship. Bama’s odds had gone from +250 before Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence had to take a breather due to a coronavirus positive, to -110 heading into their final two games.
The Crimson Tide beat the Florida Gators 52-46 to secure yet another SEC Championship. Alabama looks like a pro team among children. They were up 35-17 at halftime. Florida controlled the third quarter, outscoring Bama 14-0.
But Nick Saban’s squad responded with a 17 points outburst in the fourth to secure the win. Mac Jones threw for 418 yards and 5 touchdowns, Najee Harris rushed for 178 yards and 2 TDs, and Devonta Smith caught 15 passes for 184 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Alabama deserves it’s crazy low odds to win the title. But does that mean the other three participants have no chance?
Clemson knocks off Notre Dame for second seed
Notre Dame won’t beat Alabama. Clemson might. The Irish had a chance to prove their early season 2 overtime win against the Tigers wasn’t because Trevor Lawrence was on the bench.
Instead of proving they beat Clemson because they’re just as good, Notre Dame lied down and allowed the Tigers to repeatedly kick them. Lawrence completed 25-of-36 for 322 yards. He threw 2 touchdown passes.
The Clemson defense held Notre Dame to 10 points on their way to a 34-10 win. Clemson showed they’re the only team that can beat Alabama while the Irish proved they probably don’t belong in the Top 4.
Texas A&M calls “foul” on Ohio State inclusions after 6 games
But because Ohio State beat Northwestern to win the Big Ten title, and because Alabama thumped the Aggies 52-24 in the loss, the CFP rewarded the Buckeyes and left the Aggies out in the cold.
A&M coach Jimbo Fisher cried “foul”. Both Jimbo and the College Football Playoff have a point. Under normal circumstances, no way Ohio State would make the CFP after 6 wins. But it’s hard to ding any team in 2020 due to late starts and canceled games.
Also, A&M beat Florida, yes, but that win became soiled after the Gators lost to a bad LSU team. The other teams A&M beat, Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina, weren’t even ranked.
Ohio State beat a very good Indiana team and a decent Northwestern squad. So, they got the nod.
Oklahoma takes on the Florida Gators. No matter who your team is, it’s time to be happy. We got through a full college football season during the pandemic. That’s something to celebrate.
Have a great week!
