Why bet on the Kansas versus Coastal Carolina?

Kansas struggled to get anything going versus FCS squad South Dakota. A late touchdown sealed the deal. Based on how Kansas struggled versus South Dakota, they should have no chance versus a ranked team like Coastal Carolina. However, South Dakota is one of the best FCS teams in the nation. The Coyotes can hang with plenty of Division 1 schools. Coastal Carolina rolled against a worst team than Kansas in their first game. Jayhawks could cover as a massive dog.

Why bet on the Coastal Carolina versus Kansas?

Few teams entered the season with as many returning starters as Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers went undefeated last season. They’ve got a real shot of going undefeated this season until facing a top Power 5 Conference team in a New Year’s Day Bowl. Sure, Coastal dominated an awful team in The Citadel. But CCC has athletes on both sides of the ball. They can take apart a Kansas team that just doesn’t have enough good players to keep this close.

Coastal Carolina Offensive Averages

  • Total Yards: 610
  • Passing Yards: 348
  • Rushing Yards: 262
  • Points Scored: 52

Coastal Carolina Defensive Averages

  • Passing Yards: 14
  • Rushing Yards: 223

Kansas versus Coastal Carolina Final Betting Prediction

Kansas is Coastal Carolina’s lone Power 5 Conference opponent. After the Chanticleers beat Kansas, they must run through the Sun Belt Conference without a hiccup.

That’s just the thing, though. Because Coastal can’t impress against any other Power 5 teams, they must obliterate the Jayhawks to stay top of mind. By obliterate, we mean blowing past the -27 spread.

Can Coastal Carolina do it? Based on how they played against The Citadel, they’ve got a real shot. Kansas beat South Dakota, and the Coyotes are a good football team, but aren’t close to Coastal Carolina’s level.

Chanticleers quarterback Grayson McCall, running back Shermari Jones, and receiver Jaivon Helligh should have more success versus Kansas’ defense than South Dakota had. Almost as important? The Citadel didn’t score until 6:08 in the third quarter, well after Coastal Carolina had pulled their starters.

The Chanticleers are motivated to dominate Kansas by 35 points or more. On Friday, Coastal will accomplish their task.

NCAAF Week 2 Pick:  Coastal Carolina -27
