NCAA Football Rumors & Betting News May 11th Edition

Clemson Tigers Vs Georgia Bulldogs

This matchup will take place in Charlotte, North Carolina. Both of these teams figure to be ranked inside the top 10. This game will likely have College Football Playoff ramifications. The loser of this game will put themselves in a deep, early season hole. If Georgia loses, they’ll be pressed to not lose another game the rest of the season. If Clemson loses, they’ll have an easier path, but it will still be a tough road for them. Either way, this will be a great early season game that will gain the attention of many viewers.

Penn State Nittany Lions @ Wisconsin Badgers

The Big 10 isn’t waiting to start the conference season, as these two perennial league powerhouses will square off in Week 1 of the season. Since 2014, these two teams have only met once in the regular season. Both teams fell way short of expectations in the 2020 season, so they’ll both be looking to get started on the right track. This will be a huge game for both teams, and the winner will have a lot of momentum heading into the bulk of the conference season.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish @ Florida State Seminoles

These two normally play in the middle of the season, so this will be a big change for both of them. Notre Dame lost a lot of players on the offensive side of the football, so Brian Kelly will have a lot of work to do to get ready for Week 1. Florida State is coming off of a train wreck of a season, and a win in this one would help get the program back on the right foot. Florida State brought in a lot of players from the transfer portal, so the rebuild process is getting a faster start.

Miami Hurricanes Vs Alabama Crimson Tide

This big matchup will take place in Atlanta. These two haven’t met since the 1993 Sugar Bowl. Alabama will start it’s quest for a repeat championship, while the Hurricanes will look to improve upon last year’s 8-3 season. Both teams have a lot of holes to fill, as both lost some very good players to graduation and the NFL Draft. Alabama will have a very different look on offense, as there will be a new starting quarterback, starting running back, and starting wide receivers. Not to mention that there will be a lot of change on the offensive line. Alabama never seems to rebuild, they just seem to reload, so there’ll still be plenty of talent for the Crimson Tide.
