Justin Herbert and the 19th-ranked Oregon Ducks will look to keep their Pac-12 title hopes alive when they hit the road to take on Khalil Tate and the struggling Arizona Wildcats in a Week 9 matchup that doesn’t have nearly the luster that it looked like it would have in the preseason. Now, let’s find out which one of these teams is offering the best value against their Week 9 NCAAF odds.

Why Bet on The Oregon Ducks?
Why should you bet on Oregon in this Week 9 Pac-12 pairing? Well, there are a bunch of good reasons! First, Oregon is by far, the better offensive team in this affair as they put up a stellar 39.7 points per game to Arizona’s 27.7 points per contest. Then, there’s the fact that the Ducks also allow fewer points per game (26.1 ppg) defensively than Arizona does (29.0 ppg).
Oregon pounded Arizona 48-28 last season and the Ducks have the better quarterback right now, even though Arizona’s Khalil Tate entered the season as the odds-on-favorite to win the College Player of the Year award. Last but not least, the Ducks will be highly motivated after losing their second game of the season by falling to Washington State 34-20 last weekend after falling behind 27-0 at the half.

Why Bet on The Arizona Wildcats?
Why should you bet on Arizona in this week 9 matchup? The best reason is that the Wildcats are going to be completely and utterly desperate after dropping two straight games including their heartbreaking 31-30 loss against UCLA this past weekend. While running back J.J. Taylor rushed for 154 yards and a touchdown, he also has a costly fumble on what looked like a 56-yard touchdown run until the Bruins’ Darnay Holmes forced a fumble at the UCLA 3 and recovered it in the end zone.
“The decision making in critical moments hurts in a game like this,” Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin said. “When you are in these one-score games we have to close them out. Tonight was a situation where UCLA did it.”
Another good reason is that Arizona will likely have their gifted dual-threat quarterback on the field after he missed last week’s contest with an ankle injury. While Tate is not having the season everyone thought he would by completing an uninspiring 53.4 percent of his passes for 11 touchdowns and four interceptions, his ability to make game-changing plays both, through the air and on the ground, make the Wildcats that much more dangerous.

Expert Analysis and Prediction for Oregon vs Arizona
Arizona may or may not be getting star quarterback Khalil Tate back for this contest, but I don’t think it’s going to matter much seeing as how Oregon is the clearly superior team on both sides of the ball and particularly on offense. Khalil Tate and offensive-minded head coach Kevin Sumlin were supposed to make beautiful music together this season with Sumlin taking over, but they’ve both disappointed in a big way and now, the Ducks look like near locks, even as a nearly double-digit road favorite.
Oregon has gone 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games on grass and 36-17-1 ATS in their last 54 games in October. Arizona is 3-8 SU in its last 11 games, 4-8-1 ATS in their last 13 games and 2-7 SU in their last nine dates against Oregon. With Justin Herbert outplaying whoever starts under center for Arizona and the Ducks having a lot to play for, I like Oregon for the double-digit road win and ATS cover.
