Analyzing The Top 5 ATS Predictions And Picks For College Football Week 2

Penn State vs. Pittsburgh, Saturday, September 10

NCAAF Week 2 Pick: Pittsburgh (-5) The only reason the Penn State Nittany Lions are getting much love here is because they are from the hyped up Big Ten and Christian Hackenberg had a bit of a reputation. But Hackenberg is now in the NFL and Penn State’s offense is messy. Conversely, the Panthers have a good blend of experienced and young players, and their performance in the ACC has been on the come up. Throw in the additional advantage of playing at home, it goes without saying that the value here should be with Pittsburgh.

Wyoming vs. Nebraska, Saturday, September 10

NCAAF Week 2 Pick: Nebraska (-24.5) After running down the Fresno State Bulldogs in a 43-10 victory as 28.5-point favorites last week, the Cornhuskers will be looking for another big result this Saturday. Fortunately, the Cowboys are just as soft as Fresno State, so Tommy Armstrong Jr. and his deadly group of running backs should have another dominant performance en route to a solid double-digit win.

Iowa State vs. Iowa Hawkeyes, Saturday, September 10

NCAAF Week 2 Pick: Iowa State (+15) In spite of defeating Miami of Ohio 45-21 in Week 1, the #17 Hawkeyes were unable to cover the spread as 27.5-point chalks. The Cyclones, meanwhile, lost 25-20 at home to Northern Iowa, but covered the spread as 9.5-point underdogs. Motivation should be a plenty for both sides when they meet in this rivalry game. The Hawkeyes are worthy favorites here, but their iffy defensive play against Miami (OH) is a bit of concern here; something we believe QB Joel Lansing and the Cyclones can take advantage of to cover the spread.

UNLV vs. UCLA, September 10

NCAAF Week 2 Pick: UNLV (+26) Josh Rosen and the Bruins are an overvalued bunch. Against the unranked Texas A&M Aggies in Week 1, the No. 16 Bruins were outplayed for most of the game, trailing 24-9 entering the fourth quarter. The Bruins sort-of redeemed themselves by scoring 15 points unanswered points and forcing overtime. But then again, UCLA’s defensive vulnerabilities showed as A&M’s Trevor Knight ran for a game-winning TD. UNLV will not be upsetting UCLA, but second-year head coach Tony Sanchez has the Rebels on the upswing with a number of players (like star WR Devonte Boyd) capable of making some noise in this game. Plus, with BYU and Stanford looming in the coming weeks, the Bruins will probably eject their starters after building a decent lead, which will allow UNLV to just about cover this game’s spread.

Kentucky vs. Florida, Saturday, September 10

NCAAF Week 2 Pick: Florida (-16) In case you haven’t gotten the memo, the Wildcats have lost 29 straight games against Florida. Kentucky’s ATS record against Florida hasn’t been any better either, with Florida going 8-1 ATS in the last 9 straight meetings vs. UK. Add to the fact that the Wildcats have gone 0-5 ATS in their last five games against winning teams, and are coming off a meltdown against the unranked Southern Miss who scored 34 unanswered points to upset UK last week; we don’t need to emphasize why Florida should be your preferred pick for the win and points this Saturday.
