Week 13 College Football Upset And Underdogs Picks

Written by on November 24, 2016

The Alabama Crimson Tide and Colorado Buffaloes are favored in their respective Week 13 conference clashes, but both nationally-ranked teams look like they could fail to cover the college football betting odds against their double-digit underdog opponents. Now, let’s find out why!

Here’s A Closer Look At The Week 13 College Football Upset And Underdogs Picks

Auburn Tigers (8-3) at Alabama Crimson Tide (11-0)

When: Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 3:30 PM ET NCAAF Odds: Alabama -17 / Total: 47 Analysis: Auburn has won four of their last five games and come into their annual clash against the Crimson Tide off a compelling 55-0 shutout over tiny Alabama A&M last weekend. The Tigers average a healthy 34.1 points per game to rank 40th nationally in scoring and have an elite defense that limits the opposition to just 14.3 points per game to rank seventh nationally. Auburn Tigers has held four of their last five opponents to 16 points or less. The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide got past tiny Chattanooga 31-3 last weekend to take another step toward reaching the second-ever four-team CFB Playoff. Alabama averages a stellar 40.3 points per game to rank 14th nation ally in scoring and are as dominant on the defensive side of the ball as ever in ranking second nationally in total defense (253.1 ypg), first against the run (69.4 ypg) and second in points allowed (11.4 ppg). For this intriguing SEC showdown, I’m going to advise you to roll with the 61 percent of public bettors that like Auburn to cover a point spread that I believe is too high for the Tide to cover.  Alabama is 5-0 ATS in their last five SEC games, but Auburn is 4-0 ATS in their last four road games against a team with a winning home record, 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and a consistent 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall. Alabama wins this matchup at home, but I like the Tigers to cover the big spread in a thriller. Pick: Alabama 21 Auburn 17

Utah Utes (8-3) at Colorado Buffaloes (9-2)

When: Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 7:30 PM ET NCAAF Odds: Colorado -10.5 / Total: 53.5 Analysis: The Utah Utes will be looking to bounce back from their heartbreaking 30-28 last second loss to Oregon last weekend. The Utes are averaging  healthy 30.9 points per game to rank 55th nationally in scoring while simultaneously limiting the opposition to 23.6 points per game to rank 40th overall in points allowed. The Colorado Buffaloes have won five straight and come into this contest off a convincing 38-24 win over Washington State last weekend while covering the spread as a 6-point favorite. The Buffs are putting up a healthy 35.5 points per game to rank 33rd nationally in scoring while limiting the opposition to just 18.4 points per game to rank a stellar 13th nationally in points allowed. For this huge Pac-12 pairing, I like the Utah Utes to cover the college football betting line in a narrow loss. Colorado is 11-1 ATS in its last 12 games, but Utah has gone 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss, 4-2 ATS in its last six games overall and 12-5 ATS in its last 17 road games. The Utes have the better defense and that will edge will be what helps them cover a spread that should be closer to a touchdown than the double-digit line it currently sits at. Pick: Colorado 27 Utah 21
