The Texas A&M Aggies will look to avoid the upset and remain unbeaten when they visit a South Carolina Gamecocks team that is completely desperate after splitting their first four games of the season.

Now, let’s find out if the Aggies can both, avoid an SU loss while covering the college football betting lines as a huge double-digit road favorite.

A Closer Look At The Week 5 College Football Texas A&M Aggies At South Carolina Gamecocks Expert Predictions

When: Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 4:00 PM ET
Where: Williams-Brice Stadium
TV: SEC Network
Live Stream: NCAA Live
NCAAF Odds: South Carolina Gamecocks +17

Bet The Texas A&M Aggies at -17 Because…

The Texas A&M Aggies are playing fantastic football on both sides of the ball! Texas A&M (4-0 SU, 4-0 ATS) is coming off an emphatic 45-24 win over Arkansas in Week 4 while easily covering the spread as a 7-point favorite. Texas A&M is averaging 43 points per game as quarterback Trevor Knight has completed 53.2 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and two interceptions this season. Knight has also rushed for 308 yards and five touchdowns.

Running back Trayveon Williams leads the team with 389 yards and three touchdowns while wide receiver Christian Kirk has a team-high 21 catches and three touchdowns. Defensively, Texas A&M is limiting the opposition to just 16 points and 390.8 yards per game with four interceptions, four fumble recoveries and a whopping 13 sacks.

Bet The South Carolina Gamecocks at +17 Because…

The Gamecocks are desperate and playing at home! South Carolina (2-2 SU, 2-2 ATS) was on the wrong end of a 17-10 loss to Kentucky the last time out while failing to cover the spread as a 2.5-point underdog. South Carolina is averaging a pitiful 14.2 points per game as quarterback Brandon McIlwain has completed a discouraging 51.6 percent of his passes with just two touchdowns.

Running back A.J. Turner is South Carolina’s top rusher with 157 yards and a touchdown and Hayden Hurst has a team-high 19 catches. Defensively, the Gamecocks have been rock-solid in limiting the opposition to just 17.2 points per game with four interceptions, three fumble recoveries and nine sacks.

Expert Prediction and Pick

While I’ve been very impressed with South Carolina’s defense this season, I just don’t see the Gamecocks winning this game or covering the spread against a Texas A&M team that is simply better on both sides of the ball. South Carolina is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and an uninspiring 1-5 ATS in their L/6 games after allowing less than 20 points their previous game.

Texas A&M is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a win. While I’m not real fond of the high point spread, I do like the Aggies to find a way to cover!

My Pick: Texas A&M 35 South Carolina 17
