College Football Week 5 Odds & SU Betting Picks

Written by on September 25, 2017

College Football Week 5 Odds are up, and the true contenders for the National Championship are starting to emerge. It’s still early yet, and a lot can happen, but the general consensus is that we may be looking at a third straight championship game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Clemson Tigers. Both teams still have some tough games ahead of them, and some true contenders are starting to show their colors, a couple of whom will be featured in these picks. There are some huge games on the schedule for Week 5 of the season, and rather than simply picking what would appear to be sure winners, I am going to stick my neck out and make some predictions on the bigger games for the coming week. There may even be a surprise or two in here. Keep in mind the NCAAF odds may change by the end of the week, so be sure to recheck with us.

College Football Week 5 Odds & SU Betting Picks

College Football Week 5 Games You Must Bet On

Washington State Cougars over USC Trojans

College Football Week 5 Odds: USC -3.5 Let’s get the ball rolling with an upset pick for this big Friday night game. If you ever had a reason to kick off your weekend in front of the TV, then this game would be it. A pair of ranked teams going head to head on a Friday night is not something that we see very often, and when you toss an upset alert into the mix, you must watch the game. The Trojans are unbeaten, but they have made hard work out of their first 4 games of the season. By comparison, the Cougars have rolled to a 4-0 record and a #16 ranking, lighting up their opposition with some huge offensive displays. I think this one will be close, and I believe that Washington State can use home field to their advantage.

Georgia Bulldogs over Tennessee Volunteers

College Football Week 5 Odds: Georgia -7.5 If there is going to be a team ready to challenge the Alabama Crimson Tide for SEC superiority, then it may well end up being the Georgia Bulldogs. The Dawgs are coming off a total dismantling of Mississippi State between the hedges in Week 4, but they have a tricky little road trip ahead of them this weekend. The Volunteers look like a team in trouble this season, but it’s never easy for anyone to go into Neyland Stadium and get the win. Look for the Bulldogs D to continue their great play, and also look for sophomore QB Jake Fromm to continue to become more confident. Big win for Georgia here.

Auburn Tigers over Mississippi State Bulldogs

College Football Week 5 Odds: Auburn -9.5 Prior to the start of play in Week 4, all the talk was about Mississippi State and how they were starting to look unbeatable. All that talk was shut down after the Bulldogs were steamrolled by Georgia, and you now have to wonder how this team is going to bounce back after such a stunning loss. Things certainly don’t get any easier for the Bulldogs this weekend, and they need to once again go on the road to face the Auburn Tigers in hostile territory. The College Football Week 5 Odds are with Auburn.   While the bookies have the Tigers as a huge 9 ½ point favorite, I think the Bulldogs can keep this one close, albeit in a losing cause.

Clemson Tigers over Virginia Tech Hokies

College Football Week 5 Odds: Clemson -7.5 All the talk prior to the season was about how difficult it was going to be for the Clemson Tigers to repeat as National Champions given the wealth of talent that they lost to the NFL draft. Through the first 4 weeks of the season, the Tigers haven’t missed a beat, and there are even some who suggest that they should be ranked #1, ahead of Alabama. The rankings will take care of themselves as the season progresses, and Clemson can certainly help their cause with another big win over a ranked opponent this weekend. The trip to Virginia Tech will be a tough one, but it’s a test that Clemson will pass.
