2016 NFL Parlay Picks For Week 1
The NFL season is almost upon us, which means it’s time to really start thinking about wagering and building our bankrolls over the next few months. One of the most effective ways to grow your money quickly is by hitting parlays. It’s a little tougher to do, but there are usually 2 or 3 games every week in the NFL that really jump off the page as potential winners. Over the course of this week, I will be looking at each individual week of play to try and nail down some parlay picks. We don’t have the betting lines for these games yet, and we most certainly don’t know what type of shape each team is going to be in on any given week. Still, it’s fun to look ahead at the possibilities, always keeping in mind that these picks may change as we get closer to game time.
Analyzing The 2016 NFL Parlay Picks For Week 1
Seahawks over Dolphins
I am going to start each of these parlays with what I believe to be a pretty safe pick, and Week 1’s biggest lock would appear to be the Seattle Seahawks at home to the Miami Dolphins. Seattle are a tough, tough team to beat in their own building, and I just don’t see them dropping the season opener in front of what is sure to be an incredibly loud fan base. I think the Dolphins are looking at another mediocre season this year, and should simply not be good enough to win this road trip.
Colts over Lions
Indianapolis still managed to put together a winning season last year despite being without Andrew Luck for a large portion of the season. Luck is going to be back and hungry, and he will start out on home field against a Lions team that is going to have to fill a huge void with the retirement of Calvin Johnson. There are some who believe that not focusing the offense around a single player may help the Lions, but that is wishful thinking, in my opinion.
Rams over 49ers
The first two picks of this week have been relatively safe, which means it’s time to start looking for some value to up the betting odds on our parlay. I think that the Rams can hit the road and come away with the win against what is sure to be a pretty awful 49ers team. Rookie QB Jared Goff is probably going to do a lot of handing off to Todd Gurley in the opening few weeks of the season, which is not a bad option.
Cardinals over Patriots
While the Cardinals will likely be a home favorite for this one, it’s still something of a dangerous bet. You can never really count out the Patriots, but without Tom Brady in the line-up, the Patriots may be in for a torrid time against a very good Cardinals D. This is a pick that I would only add to the parlay ticket if you are feeling a little adventurous.
