Winning NFL ATS Picks for Week 8

New York Jets (-5) at Cleveland Browns

Week 8 NFL ATS Pick: Jets (-5) The New York Jets’ 21-point victory over the Browns in 2015 marked their third straight win over Cleveland by 6-plus points, and this trend should be able continue in 2016, bearing in mind the Browns are entering the new season in a no-better shape than they were last year. Against a New York team that looks to be on the come-up, the visitors should be able to claim the win here by at least a touchdown.

Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts (-1)

Week 8 NFL ATS Pick: Colts (-1) There is more to handicapping games than just relying on historical records, but when you have a record like the one Indy has on Kansas City, then you might as well just turn a blind eye on everything else. I mean, the Colts have won 13 of their last 15 overall games against the Chiefs, including three back-to-back victories in their last three meetings. Kansas City was a real juggernaut last season, thanks to a solid defense and rejuvenated Alex Smith-led offense that received plenty of support from the team’s running game. As such, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the resurgent Chiefs turn the tables on Indianapolis. But as things stand, I strongly recommend the Colts for the win and points, as they have a proven efficiency and solid winning formula over the Chiefs.

Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers (-3.5)

Week 8 NFL ATS Pick: Panthers (-3.5) The Panthers have played the Cardinals twice over the past two seasons, with both games coincidentally coming in the playoffs. And Carolina has emerged victorious in both games, winning 27-16 in the 2015 playoffs before delivering the stunning 45-15 rout in the 2016 playoffs. More notably, the Panthers—who were 10-0 at home in the 2015 regular season and playoffs—are 3-0 in their last three straight games against Arizona at the Bank of America Stadium. With all that considered, your best bet would be on Carolina plus the cheap points.

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (-3.5)

Week 8 NFL ATS Pick: Cowboys (-3.5) The Dallas Cowboys and Eagles have split their last six meetings over the past three seasons, but the most interesting part is that both teams have been winning on the road and losing at home in all the alternate fixtures. Last season, for instance, the Cowboys won 20-10 Philly before the Eagles won 33-27 in OT at Dallas. If this trend is anything to go by, the Eagles should thus be due for a win in this Week 8 fixture. My thinking, though, is that Philadelphia is undergoing too many changes while the Cowboys weren’t at their best last year due to their injury-decimated season. With the Cowboys back to their best with a healthier lineup, they should be able to win this game, if not sweep the series against the evolving Eagles.
