Each year, some members of the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the only team to finish with no losses and win a Super Bowl, reportedly get together for a toast after the last team in the NFL without a loss finally suffers one. Well, that was the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, so toast up guys. There once again will be no unbeaten team this season. The Thursday night affair – finally an interesting matchup! Only the second all-time meeting between Cam Newton and Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers have covered all six meetings with Carolina all-time and we believe they make it seven … although we might buy that number down a bit.Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears (-6.5)
Will the Bears get top WR Allen Robinson and pass-rushing star, Khalil Mack, back this week? Both have missed the past two games due to injuries but the Bears have won both and lead the NFC North. The Lions are at the bottom after Matthew Stafford was sacked a career-high 10 times in Sunday’s loss in Minnesota. Take Chicago before it gets over 7.Washington Redskins at Tampa Bay Bucs (-2.5)
Washington was exposed as a fraud in Sunday’s 38-14 home loss to Atlanta. The NFC East-leading Redskins (5-3) could blame poor tackling, ill-timed penalties and a series of injuries along the offensive line for the end of their three-game winning streak. Washington also lost three starters to season-ending injuries. The Bucs are the worst defense in football and allowed 42 points in Sunday’s loss to Carolina. But we like Tampa here.Arizona Cardinals at Kansas City Chiefs (-17)
Could this be the biggest spread of the year? It had been Vikings -17 earlier this year vs. Buffalo and the Bills won the game! Arizona does come off its bye week, but the Chiefs are an offensive machine. Mahomes has 29 touchdown passes and 3,185 passing yards, both the most by a player in his first 10 career games in NFL history. The guy is awesome … but we’re taking the Cards for a late cover.Atlanta Falcons at Cleveland Browns (+4)
The Falcons have shown some life and have gotten back to .500 with three straight wins. They clobbered the Redskins 38-14 on Sunday. Matt Ryan completed 26 of 38 passes for 350 yards and four touchdowns. Julio Jones made seven receptions for 121 yards and caught his first TD pass since Nov. 26, 2017. The Browns fired Coach Hue Jackson last week and it didn’t change anything as they lost again. Go Atlanta.New Orleans Saints at Cincinnati Bengals (+4)
The Saints, right now, might be the NFL’s best team after upsetting the unbeaten Rams on Sunday. Could this be a trap game, though? The Bengals are off their bye week but will be without top WR AJ Green for at least this game and probably a few more. We like Cincinnati.New England Patriots at Tennessee Titans (+7)
New England blasted Tennessee in last year’s playoffs. The Titans’ coach is former long-time Patriots linebacker, Mike Vrabel. This feels somewhat like a letdown game for New England, but the Titans stink on offense on are on a short week. Go Pats but no higher than 7.Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts (-3)
Two teams going opposite directions – the Jags down and Colts up – and coming off their bye. After a 1-5 start, Indianapolis has a rhythm on offense, one remaining opponent with a winning record and an outside chance at a playoff run. We’ll go with Indy here.Buffalo at NY Jets (-7.5)
This is clearly the most unwatchable game of Week 10 between horrific offenses … well until Monday. Buffalo’s might be the worst in modern NFL history.
