Top NFL Week 3 ATS Betting Picks

Written by on September 17, 2018

With the first couple of weeks of the NFL season in the books, we are seeing some rather surprising results, most notably in the state of Pennsylvania, where the Steelers and Eagles are off to surprisingly poor starts. We are also seeing some teams rise to the occasion and deliver what we expected, with the Packers and Rams being top of that list. As always, a dark horse is emerging early, with the Kansas City Chiefs very much fitting that bill early on. It is now time to look ahead to NFL Week 3 odds while making some selections. For the purposes of this piece, we are going to focus on ATS picks, so let’s get right to it.

Top NFL Week 3 ATS Betting Picks

Cleveland Browns (-3) vs New York Jets

But for some issues with their kicking, the Browns would be sitting at 2-0 right now. A missed FG against the Steelers cost them in Week 1, while a missed PAT versus the Saints was their undoing over the weekend. Those games were given away in typical Browns fashion, but you still get the sense that their first win in forever is coming, and I have a feeling that it might come this weekend versus the Jets. Sam Darnold looked great in his NFL debut for the Jets but was bought back to earth with a thump on Sunday. This might well be a close one, but I like the Browns to win and cover in a pick that is sure to come back to haunt me.

  • Cleveland is 7-17-1 ATS in its last 25 games
  • Cleveland is 0-4-1 SU in its last 5 games at home

Green Bay Packers (-3) vs Washington Redskins

The Packers were involved in a great escape in Week 1 with a comeback win over the Bears, but they went toe to toe with one of the best teams in the league, the Minnesota Vikings, in Week 2 and came away with the tie. Aaron Rodgers is back playing at a ridiculous level, and while this trip to Washington is a tricky one, it’s a game I think the Packers should win by a TD or more. The reality is that it has been a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde start to the season for the Redskins, who I believe are seriously outmatched here. Packers to win and cover.

  • Washington is 2-7-1 ATS in its last 10 games when playing Green Bay

Denver Broncos (+5) vs Baltimore Ravens

There were a lot of people talking about the Ravens after their Week 1 demolishing of the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, but after following that up with a loss to the Bengals, the talk is now more about how bad the Bills are this season. Broncos come in as underdogs in NFL Week 3 against the Ravens. Given their QB issues, it is perhaps a little surprising that the Broncos are 2-0 to start the year, but that is exactly where they are. I am a little surprised to see the spread at 5 in favor of the Ravens, as I think we are looking at a close one here. Ravens may win at home, but I like the Broncos to cover.

  • Baltimore is 8-4 ATS in its last 12 games when playing Denver

LA Rams (-7) vs LA Chargers

The Rams spent a ton of dough as they go in search of a Super Bowl this season, and while it’s still early in the year, it appears as though the big financial investment is reaping dividends. The Rams have looked very good through the opening two weeks of the season and will go against their city rivals this coming weekend. The Chargers got back to winning ways with a win over the Bills in Week 2, but this is a much tougher challenge. I am on the Rams to continue rolling with a win and the cover.

  • Rams are 5-11-1 ATS in their last 17 games at home
