Miami Dolphins vs Houston Texans (-7.5)
Houston started 0-3 but now leads the AFC South at 4-3. It won in Jacksonville on Sunday, 20-7. Quarterback Deshaun Watson had to take a bus from Houston instead of a plane because he’s playing with a collapsed lung. Tough dude! Watson completed 12 of 24 passes for 139 yards, including a 10-yard TD pass to DeAndre Hopkins in the third quarter that put Houston up 20-0.Miami fell out of first with a 32-21 home loss to Detroit. Dynamic receiver Albert Wilson was sidelined in the first half with a leg injury. Receiver Kenny Stills also limped to the locker room with a minute left. Take Miami to cover but not win.
Philadelphia Eagles vs Jacksonville Jaguars (+3)
This is at 9:30 ET from London – the last London game of the year. Who will the Jags start at QB? In their 20-7 home loss to Houston on Sunday, starter Blake Bortles was benched for Cody Kessler. Bortles fumbled on the third play of each half, which led to 10 Houston points.Kessler threw a touchdown pass, but he also fumbled and threw an interception off T.J. Yeldon’s hands. The Eagles blew a 17-0 fourth-quarter lead and lost 21-17 at home to Carolina. RB Darren Sproles (hamstring), CB Sidney Jones (hamstring), DT Haloti Ngata (calf) and S Corey Graham (hamstring) were among the key players out of the lineup. Go Eagles.
NY Jets vs Chicago Bears (-7)
Third straight game vs. the AFC East for Bears, who lost the first two. It was 38-31 at home vs. New England on Sunday. Chicago has dropped two in a row after winning three straight to take sole possession of the NFC North lead for the first time since 2013.The Bears’ three losses are by a combined 11 points. Chicago gave up two special teams TDs to the Pats. The Jets were bombed at home by Minnesota as rookie QB Sam Darnold struggles. Go Bears.
Tampa Bay Bucs vs Cincinnati Bengals (-6)
Cincinnati on Sunday night. The Bucs beat Cleveland 26-23 in overtime.Chandler Catanzaro kicked a 59-yard field goal, the longest ever in overtime, with 1:50 remaining. Redeeming himself after missing an extra point, as well as a 40-yard field goal on the final play of regulation, Catanzaro’s kick barely made it over the crossbar to end Tampa Bay’s three-game skid. The Bucs were up 14 in the fourth quarter. Take Cincinnati.
Seattle Seahawks vs Detroit Lions (-2.5)
The Seahawks are off their bye. Detroit looked great Sunday in a 32-21 win in Miami. Kerryon Johnson rushed for 158 yards and the Lions netted 248 on the ground, their highest total in 21 years.Matt Stafford was 18 for 22 for 217 yards and two touchdowns. Detroit had 457 total yards and mounted scoring drives covering 64, 85, 75, 65, 75, 63 and 44 yards. The Lions are back to .500 after being outscored 78-44 in their first two games. Bet Detroit.
Denver Broncos vs Kansas City Chiefs (-10)
Kansas City hosted Cincinnati on Sunday night. The Broncos trounced the Cardinals in Arizona on Thursday, 45-10. Denver had two pick-sixes in the first quarter to end a four-game losing streak. Denver lost at home to Kansas City on a Monday night in Week 4, 27-23. The Chiefs were down 23-13 with just over six minutes remaining. Go Denver (to cover not win).
Washington Redskins vs NY Giants (pick’em)
The Giants are off their bye week. Washington won its second straight Sunday, 20-17 over Dallas. Ryan Kerrigan’s strip-sack of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was recovered for a touchdown by Preston Smith with just under five minutes left in the fourth quarter. Take New York.
Cleveland Browns vs Pittsburgh Steelers (-7.5)
Will the Steelers get back Pro Bowl running back Le’Veon Bell? Some reports say he will report to the team this week, while others say he might not until next week after the trade deadline. The Browns were OT losers in Tampa on Sunday. Seems like Cleveland plays an OT game every week; it did Week 1, tying the Steelers 21-21. Go Pittsburgh.
Baltimore Ravens vs Carolina Panthers (+1.5)
This should be a defensive slugfest. The Ravens blew a 17-7 fourth-quarter lead on Sunday and lost 24-23 at home to New Orleans when kicker Justin Tucker missed the first PAT of his entire pro career. Tucker is the most accurate kicker in NFL history in terms of field goal percentage.Not only that, but he was 222 for 222 on conversions since breaking into the league in 2002, and was the only NFL kicker without a miss (112 for 112) since the placement of the ball was moved back in 2015. The Panthers rallied from a 17-0 fourth-quarter hole to stun the Eagles in Philly. Take Carolina.
Indianapolis Colts vs Oakland Raiders (pick’em)
The Raiders are off their bye and have lost starting tailback Marshawn Lynch for at least a month due to injury. The Colts snapped a four-game skid with a 37-5 rout of Buffalo.
Andrew Luck threw four TD passes. Indy rushed for 220 yards, the highest total in Luck’s seven seasons. Take Oakland.
Green Bay Packers vs LA Rams (-9)
One of the marquee matchups of the season. The Packers are off their bye, while the Rams are the NFL’s only unbeaten team. Two MVP candidates in Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers and Rams running back Todd Gurley. Take the Packers.
San Francisco 49ers vs Arizona Cardinals (pick’em)
Can’t think of anything positive to say about this one between really bad teams. The Cardinals will play their first game since firing offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and replacing him with QBs coach Byron Leftwich. Go Niners.
New Orleans Saints vs Minnesota Vikings (-1.5)
A rematch of last season’s Divisional Round playoff game, which the Vikings won on the “Minneapolis Miracle,” the first walk-off playoff touchdown in league history. I’m guessing that play will be shown a few times this week. Go Vikings.
