Aaron Donald and JJ Watt are obvious plays. Donald had 20.5 sacks last season. Watt had 16 sacks last season. Both could be plays against heading into the 2019 NFL Regular Season, though. JJ might have to play without Jadeveon Clowney at end on the other side. Clowney is holding out. He wants a new contract. Teams will find it much easier to double team Watt if Clowney sits out the season.
Donald must play without Ndamukong Suh along the defensive line. Suh is a space eater. He also remains one of the more talented D-line players in the NFL. Suh is now a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. Donald will most definitely have to fight double-teams and a chippy running back on every play.
Both Khalil Mack and Von Miller offer excellent odds. Mack sacked the QB 12.5 times last season. It was his first as a Chicago Bear. The Bears will find ways to free Mack up more this season. It’s Roquan Smith’s second in the NFL. He should improve, which means teams will have to account for both Roquan and Khalil.
In 2018, Broncos player Bradley Chubb had 12 sacks as a rookie. Von Miller had 14.5 sacks. With teams concentrating more on Chubb this season, Miller should find himself much freer than he has in a long time.
The underdog play is Saints DE Cameron Jordan. All last season, then rookie DE Marcus Davenport had nagging injuries. Davenport should be healthy in 2019. With Davenport on the field, opponents will find it difficult to double-team Cameron. Jordan had 12 sacks last season.

Colts linebacker Darius Leonard had 111 solo tackles, 52 assisted tackles, and 7 sacks. Leonard was a rookie last season. The Colts defense should be better this season. Sounds crazy, but Leonard is a legit chalk to get the most combined tackles and sacks. He could get more solo tackles and more sacks in 2019 than he did in 2018.
Vander Esch might be an underlay at the odds. He plays on the same defense as DeMarcus Lawrence, Robert Quinn, and Jaylon Smith. Smith and Lawrence will eat into Vander Esch’s sacks and tackles for sure.
The dog to pay attention to score in this prop is rookie Devin White. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a really good defensive line: Ndamukong Suh, Vita Vea, Carl Nassib, and Jason Pierre-Paul. The D-line should provide plenty of opportunities for White to tackle running backs at the second level, or open holes for Devin to rush the quarterback.
White can also cover running backs and tight-ends coming out of the backfield. As a rookie, Devin White could have a seriously monster season.
