Every team that comes into the new NFL season is under some level of pressure. For the favorites, it’s all about living up to the hype. For the teams who have not been given much of a chance, it’s more about showing that the offseason moves they made have delivered some signs of progress. By the time we get to Week 9 of the season, e should have a very clear idea of what every team is about, although for some, there will still be time to turn things around and make a playoff push, although that needs to begin as soon as the second half of the season commences. There is very little margin for error in the NFL season, and while the extra playoff spots this season makes things a little more forgiving, the pressure to win remains the same. Let’s take a closer look at the big games in Week 9 of the season so you can bet on their NFL odds.
2020 NFL Betting Preview for Games in Week 9
Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers
If things go the same way as they did last season in the NFC, then the Thursday night game in Week 9 could be a critical one. The top seed in the conference is now more important than ever, with only one team getting a bye, while the remaining 6 teams play in Wild Card Weekend. It is entirely possible that both the Packers and the 49ers could be battling for that top spot, although there are some disgruntled players on both sides here, so it is always possible that things could go south. Either way, this looks like a very tasty Thursday night matchup.
Chicago Bears at Tennessee Titans
What we have here are a pair of teams coming off very different seasons. The Chicago Bears came into last year as one of the favorites to make the playoffs in the NFC, but they had a disastrous season, with QB Mitch Trubisky shouldering much of the blame, perhaps a little unfairly. Nick Foles has been brought in to help, so it will be interesting to see who gets the start this season. For the Titans, this year will be all about living up to what they did last season, which was to go to the AFC Championship Game. We will soon see if that run was a fluke or a turning point for this franchise.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Dallas Cowboys
When you have two of the most successful and iconic teams in the league going head to head, you have a definite must watch and wager situation. We get that in Week 9, with the Steelers going on the road to face the Dallas Cowboys in what should be a fun one. There is a lot of pressure on both of these teams, as there always is, after disappointing seasons for both. The Steelers are healthy again and the Cowboys have a new head coach in place. Might we get to see the best that both of these teams have to offer this season?
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It does not mater what team you follow in the NFL, every fan is going to be looking at the Buccaneers to see what difference Tom Brady will make to that franchise. By the time Week 9 rolls around, we should have a very good idea. If things go well, then this game might well be all about who takes the top spot in the NFC South, as these are the two teams starting the season as favorites to duke it out for that spot. This division might be a lot of fun to watch this season.
