We are now just a matter of days away from the start of the season, which means that now might well be the best time to get in on the future bets in the NFL. Once teams start to pick up wins, you are going to see their odds shorten across the board, so now is when you are likely to get the best odds. We are going to look at all the teams in the league and talk about their chances of winning the division, conference, and Super Bowl, as well as looking at their win total for the year. The Steelers storied history in the league means that they are very often held to a higher standard than most of the other teams in the NFL. An 8-8 season last year was a low point for them, although there were very valid reasons why they slumped to a .500 season. There may be hell to pay in Pittsburgh if they miss the playoffs for the 3rd straight season, so let’s take a look at how things might play out for the Steelers so you can place your bets against their NFL odds.
Pittsburgh Steelers Season Analysis | NFL Betting Predictions
Steelers Win Total (O/U 9 ½)
Over the last 2 seasons, the Steelers have failed to make the playoffs, while also failing to get double digit wins on the season. You can essentially write last season off, as their offense was absolutely demoralized. They were down to using running backs off the practice squad and rolling with their 3rd string QB. The chances of that happening again seem slim, so I would very tentatively go with the OVER on the win total for the regular season.
Steelers to Win the Division (+375)
Let’s be 100% real and state that if Lamar Jackson and the Ravens come out and play a close to as well as they did last season, no one is topping them in the AFC North. That said, the Steelers do have a shot at running them down if they can stay healthy, but they would need to win at least one of their meetings with the Ravens this season to keep things interesting. I still see them as an outside pick to win the North, so I’d be iffy on making this wager.
Steelers to Win the Conference (+1200)
Now, here is where things might begin to get a little interesting, especially if the Ravens cannot snag the #1 seed in the AFC. Baltimore has had back to back early exits in the postseason, which might open the door for a Steelers team that gets in via the Wild Card. This is especially true if the Steelers D is as dominant and disruptive as it was last season. Still, getting past the Chiefs is going to be very tough indeed, so while I like the Steelers this year, I’m not sure they are good enough to win the conference.
Steelers to Win the Super Bowl (+2200)
All you need to do to have a shot at winning the Super Bowl is get to the playoffs. We always see crazy things happen and a surprise team get hot, just as the Tennessee Titans did last year. If Ben Roethlisberger stays healthy and is back to 100%, this Steelers team has a shot at a deep run, but I don’t think they are winning the Super Bowl.
