NFL 2020 Week 8 O/U Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on October 27, 2020

While there have been a couple of COVID related situations that required games to be moved and rescheduled, you have to say that the NFL has done a fine job of getting the season to the midway point without too much fuss. This is great news for players and fans alike, as we can all now be confident that we get this entire season in the books in a timely fashion. The one major concern has been the among of injuries, especially to key players, that we have seen this season, but whether that has anything to do with the lack of a typical preseason routine remains to be seen. Still, it’s time to look ahead and start to think about Week 8, as there are some massive games on the schedule this weekend. We will have a ton of picks coming your way, but for this piece, let’s go with some O/U picks so you can set down your bets against their NFL odds.

Week 8 O/U Picks for the 2020 Season | NFL Betting

Tennessee Titans at Cincinnati Bengals (OVER 54 ½)

One of the things we were all watching heading into the new season was whether or not the Titans would be able to build on their run to the AFC Conference Championship last season. The answer to that has been a resounding yes, as they are now 5-1 to start the season after taking their first loss of the year to Pittsburgh last weekend. While it has been a bit of a struggle for the Bengals this season, there is reason to be excited, as QB Joe Burrow very much looks like the real deal. This will be another tough test for the Bengals, but what about the point total on this one. Well, with the Titans failing to cover last weekend, we sparked a trend that has seen the total go OVER in the last 7 games following an ATS loss. The OVER has also hit in their last 5 games versus a team with a losing record.

Las Vegas Raiders at Cleveland Browns (OVER 54)

There have been a lot of high scoring games in the NFL this season, with these two teams very often involved in those games. The Raiders have been blowing hot and cold to start the season and come into this one with a 3-3 record after jumping out to a 2-0 start. The Cleveland Browns are a respectable 5-2 to start the year, with their losses coming against division rivals in the Steelers and the Ravens. They will be without Odell Beckham Jr for the remainder of the season, so it will be interesting to see how that impacts them on the offensive side of the football. In terms of the point total, the Raiders have seen the OVER hit in 5 of their 6 games this season, with the other being a push. The Browns have seen the OVER hit in their last 7 games as a favorite.

New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears (OVER 45 ½)

Both of these teams have been something of a surprise in the first half of the season, albeit for very different reasons. We all expected the Saints to roll this year, but they have struggled at times, sitting at 4-2 though their opening 6 games. Given the QB situation in Chicago, the belief was that the Bears might be in trouble, but they have come out fast, going 5-2 to start the season. The Bears have not always been convincing, though, which is why they are in as the underdog here. That is important in terms of the point total, as the Saints have seen the OVER hit in their last 6 games as a favorite, as well as their last 6 overall.
