NFL 2021 New England Patriots Win/Loss Odds Analysis and Betting Prediction

NFL 2021 New England Patriots Win/Loss Odds Analysis and Betting Prediction

The NFL’s schedule is upping its season to 17 games in 2021. It is something a bit odd and unprecedented, in that an odd number of games will now be played. No natural .500 record can be achieved in the year that is ahead.

And as a result of the extra game, the win/loss totals will look a bit odd. With that being said, let’s look at what’s going on with the New England Patriots as the summer continues to unwind so you can plan your bets against their NFL Team Totals odds.

New England Patriots Win/Loss Betting Odds and Prediction for the 2021-22 Season

Revamped Offense

As most may recall, the Patriots had no wide receivers a season ago, and so Cam Newton led what was a rush-heavy attack. With the top receiver being Jakobi Meyers and him having no help, it was a bit hard to move the ball consistently through the air. Boy, did they go out and improve things from 2020.

They picked up Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor to start an improved receiving corps. Those two guys have good hands and are solid deep threats. They can catch passes from both Mac Jones and Cam Newton, whoever the starter for the said week is going to be.

They picked up two terrific tight ends in Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry. Neither guy was expected to land here, but both of them have great hands and can serve as effective blockers.

The two tight-end sets are a thing that still works well in the modern game, so it can help revamp things.

Damien Harris is also due for a major campaign this year.

Projected At: 9 Wins

9-8 is the record that the experts expect New England to come up with this upcoming season. They will go against the NFC North this time, facing off with the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The battle with Tom Brady will be weird for many, but also a lot of fun. It might be the closest thing to a must-see game on their schedule.

They will also be going against the AFC South, meaning a few easy wins and also some challenging foes. Their matchup with the Titans will feature two prominent running backs and will show how the defense is going to be able to handle Derrick Henry and the other bruising backs.

The team may well win as many games as they are projected to, but it will all come down to the QB position. If Cam starts most of the year, they could be pretty solid. But if Mac comes in early, things will be a bit tough.

Mac Jones or Cam Newton?

Mac Jones is a very solid QB who has a bright NFL future. But coming in as a rookie in the league, it will be a bit tough for him to find his footing, especially with a team that underwent such significant changes in personnel.

For Cam, he’s ready to be better. Last year was by far the worst of his career. He was passing it horribly, and his run game was not there every week. They had some impressive wins, but clearly not enough of them.

Mac will have the job by year’s end most likely, but until then, Cam is going to be in charge.

And the Verdict Is…

10 wins. That will be the Patriots total. A 10-7 record. So, bet the over on nine wins.
