The start of training camps across the NFL is now just a little over a month away, so it is time to get serious when talking about how teams might do this coming season. Yes, we might still see a move or two made before the opening kick-off, but for the most part, team rosters are set. With that in mind, now is as good a time as ever to start talking about potential wins and losses for each team in the coming season. The bookies have made their early odds for win totals, but be aware that those might well change in the coming weeks. Let’s take a look at the Chicago Bears and how things might play out for them this season so you can start planning your bets against their NFL Team Totals odds.
Chicago Bears Win/Loss Odds Analysis and Betting Prediction for the 2021-22 Season
Bears Divisional and Playoff Chances
We will get into the Bears schedule and their win total in a moment, but I always think it’s a good idea to look at the division as a whole before we do that. The fact of the matters is that 6 of the 17 games played by each team comes against division opponents, so that is a rather big chunk of the season as a whole. The one thing that we can say about the NFC North is that it is in a state of lux at the moment. The Detroit Lions are in full rebuild mode, while the Bears and the Vikings are looking to rebound from poor seasons. There is also a question mark with the Green Bay Packers, as their situation with Aaron Rodgers continues to drag on. In short, this is a tough division to call.
As it stands now, the Bears are in at +325 to win the NFC North, which has them behind the Packers and Vikings in terms of odds.
Bears 2021 Schedule and Win Total
Last season, the Bears finished second in the North with an 8-8 record, and all while playing without an established #1 QB. They looked to change that by drafting Justin Fields in the first round of the draft, and while he is an exciting QB prospect, there are still many who doubt his ability to make the leap from college to the NFL.
The Bears have a stretch in the opening 5 weeks where they could put together some wins and get some momentum going. They have winnable games against the Bengals, Lions, and Raiders in that run, and they really need to come away with 3 wins through the first 5 weeks, as things get tough after that. From Week 6 through 12, which includes a Week 11 bye, they have the Packers, Bucs, 49ers, Steelers, and Ravens, which is a brutal stretch of games. While things get a little easier after that, this is the stretch that could essentially define their entire season.
The win total for the Bears in 2021 is currently set at 7, which seems like a very fair number, as I think we could essentially be looking at a push. My initial thought was that they would end the season at 7-10, but I might be tempted to take a shot and go with the OVER, albeit only just.
