We are new just a few days away from the spectacle that is Super Bowl 51, which probably means that many of you are still weighing your options in deciding which way to wager. Going with the OVER

At 59 points, we are looking at the largest OVER/UNDER number in Super Bowl history. They say that defense wins championships, but these two offenses are quite simply outstanding. I’m not so sure that these two will combine to blow past that number, but I do believe that they will do enough to take it OVER, with the combined score landing somewhere in the low 60’s.

Julio Jones versus Julian Edelman

Jones has been given a 5.5-yard handicap in this head to head, but it’s one that, barring an injury, I believe he will easily overcome. Julio Jones is far and away the biggest target on the field, and no matter how the Patriots cover him, he is going to make some big catches. Brady is more likely to spread the ball around, limiting the number of catches Edelman makes.

Playing the underdog

With the bookies separating these two teams by just 3 points, it’s hard to really peg the Atlanta Falcons as real underdogs. They have the best offense in the league, and even if they lose, they should be able to keep this one close. I would not be surprised to see them cover, or at least have this thing end in a push.

4th quarter is the highest scoring

I expect this game to be wild from the start, but I think that things will get particularly crazy in the 4th quarter. The O/U for the 4th is 14.5 points, which is the joint-highest total of the four quarters. I believe that number will be surpassed quite easily as one of these two teams tries to forge ahead.

Falcons are the first to turn the ball over

This is a team that does not possess a lot in the way of Super Bowl experience, especially when compared to the New England Patriots, so expect there to be some early jitters. Not sure whether it will be a fumble or an INT, but I do believe that the Falcons will turn the ball over first.

National anthem goes under

The Super Bowl is serious business, but that doesn’t mean we can’t indulge in a fun pick or two. I think the easiest pick is to go UNDER the 127.5 seconds for the National Anthem. Luke Bryan is a country singer who is probably going to sing this thing by the book and not try to put together some fancy artistic runs.
