Why Bet The Atlanta Falcons

If you look back at the Super Bowl history of No. 1 offenses facing No. 1 defenses, then you’ve got to be a bit worried seeing as how the better defensive team has generally dominated their higher-scoring opponents. However, I don’t think that will be the case when Super Bowl 51 takes place, seeing as how Atlanta (13-5 SU, 12-6 ATS) has already gotten past one elite defense this postseason when they pounded Seattle 36-20 in the divisional round. Not only that, but the Falcons completely embarrassed Green Bay in their 44-21 NFC Championship game win the last time out. Now, the Falcons look like a great SU moneyline pick to me despite their underdog status. Not only did the Falcons rank first in scoring this season, (33.8 ppg), but they are seriously balanced, ranking third in passing and an equally impressive fifth in rushing. I also like the fact that the Falcons have a ton of momentum going for them, having scored at least 33 points in winning six straight games heading into Super Bowl 51 while compiling an impressive 5-1 ATS mark over the span.

Why Bet The New England Patriots

Even if you don’t like Tom Brady and the rest of the New England Patriots (16-2 SU, 15-3 ATS), you should know they’re certainly not going to roll over for Atlanta in Super Bowl 51 and that there are several excellent reasons to back them as a Moneyline pick, starting with their future Hall of Fame quarterback and head coach, Bill Belichick. Not only that, but the Pats have even more momentum than Atlanta and will ride a stupendous nine-game winning streak into Super Bowl 51. While Brady and company can certainly put points on the board and rank third in scoring (27.6 ppg), the best reason to back the Pats may be their ‘no-name’ defense, which ranked a stellar first in points allowed (15.6 ppg)

Expert Moneyline Pick & Final Score Prediction

I’ve already gone on record to say that I like the Atlanta Falcons to get the SU win to cash in against their moneyline odds as a value-packed +130 underdog. I love Atlanta’s explosive offense, but it is their balance in being able to both, pass and run the ball, that I believe is going to give New England problems. While Tom Brady doesn’t have many peers that are his equal, this season Atlanta’s Matt Ryan was just s good as New England’s future Hall of Famer and I believe he’s going to continue playing at an MVP caliber level in Super Bowl 51. The Falcons also have two superb running backs in Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman that give them the balance I talked about, not to mention the fact that the Falcons also have the best wide receiver on the planet in perennial Pro Bowler Julio Jones. New England hasn’t exactly throttled their Super Bowl opponents, having won all four of their titles by four points or less. For me, the Falcons just have the look of a team with a date with destiny and I believe they’re going to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history by taking down Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

My final score prediction is Atlanta 35 New England 31
