With Super Bowl 51 getting closer by the day, it’s time for my Super Bowl 51 spread betting pick. Falcons At Patriots Super Bowl 51 Spread, Betting Pick & TV Info

When: Sunday, February 5 at 6:30 PM ET Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas NFL Line: New England -3 Moneyline: Atlanta +140 at New England -160 / Over/Under: 58

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons (13-5 SU, 12-6 ATS) looked phenomenal in both of their playoff appearances in blasting Seattle 36-20 in the divisional round and overpowering Green Bay 44-21 in the NFC title tilt. By now, most football fans know that Atlanta led the league in scoring this season (33.8 ppg), but what you really need to know is that the Falcons are very balanced offensively and finished the regular season ranked third in passing and an equally impressive fifth in rushing. If there’s an area of concern, it’s got to be Atlanta’s 27th-ranked scoring defense which gave up 25.4 points per game during the regular season. Still, with the Falcons scoring at least 33 points in each of their last six games heading into Super Bowl 51, the NFC title hopefuls are looking quite dangerous.

New England Patriots

Let me get started by saying that the Patriots (16-2 SU, 15-3 ATS) have the greatest quarterback-head coach combination in league history in Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Not only that, but the Patriots will enter Super Bowl 51 absolutely on fire, having won nine consecutive games, including their 34-16 smackdown of Houston in the divisional round and equally impressive 36-17 blowout of Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship. Last but certainly not least, the Patriots are pretty damned elite on both sides of the ball as they finished the regular season ranked third in scoring (27.6 ppg) and first in points allowed (15.6 ppg).

Expert ATS Pick & Final Score Prediction

51 percent of the betting public likes Atlanta to cover the Super Bowl 51 betting line as a 3-point underdog and I agree. However, I’m also picking the NFC champions to get the outright win over New England mostly because I don’t think there’s a defense in the league this season that can stop them. I like Atlanta’s Matt Ryan to continue playing at an MVP caliber level in Super Bowl 51 while the Falcons’ pair of gifted running backs give the Patriots linebackers fits, especially in pass coverage. The Patriots are just 1-4 ATS in their last five Super Bowls while Atlanta has gone 5-1 ATS in their last six games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record. For me, the Falcons have the look of a team with a date with destiny!
