Atlanta NFL Season Analysis… Can Falcons Reach Postseason in 2016?

Written by on August 25, 2016

After falling apart following their surprising 5-0 start in Year One of the Dan Quinn era last season, Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons are looking to find the consistency they were clearly lacking a year ago. Still, the Falcons did manage to go 8-8 in 2015, fueling their legitimate hopes of improving on that mark and reaching the postseason in 2016. Let’s get started with my Atlanta Falcons season online betting analysis.

Atlanta NFL Season Analysis… Can Falcons Reach Postseason in 2016?

2016 Regular Season Win Total Odds

Over/Under 7.5 Wins Analysis: I have Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons losing home games against Carolina, Green Bay, Arizona and Kansas City and road games against New Orleans, Denver, Seattle, Philadelphia and Carolina to finish with seven wins and a PUSH against their 2016 win total odds.

NFC South Division Odds

+700 Analysis: Unless Cam Newton goes down for the Carolina Panthers, there’s no way Atlanta – or any other NFC South playoff hopeful – wins the NFC South in 2016. The Panthers nearly ran the table last season and are light years ahead of their division rivals right now. Enough said.

NFC Championship Odds

+2500 Analysis: Really? Think about all of the other legitimate Super Bowl contenders in the NFC. Simply put, the Falcons are not beating out Carolina, Seattle, Green Bay or Arizona for the conference crown in 2016.

Super Bowl 51 Odds

+3500 Analysis: I guess anything’s possible in the world of sports, but you’d have to come up with one helluva’ unrealistic scenario to pick the Falcons to win it all. Still, Atlanta is a pretty good long shot selection and one of the teams I like to improve in 2016. Still, it’s one huge stretch to pick the Falcons to win it all.
