Best 2017 NFL Betting Sure Straight Up Picks For Weeks 1-17

Written by on June 28, 2017

With the month of July now just days away, it means we are getting ever closer to all the NFL teams opening their doors for training camp. Before you know it, we will be seeing some preseason football action, and will be getting a first look at the rookies that were picked up in the draft. As great as it is to see football being played again, the important stuff doesn’t start until Week 1 of the regular season. The schedule is set, and we are now going to try and pick one game to play straight up in each of the 17 weeks of the season. These may change as injuries and other issues take place, but let’s go ahead and try to nail 17-straight.

In Depth Analysis On The Best 2017 NFL Betting Sure Straight Up Picks For Weeks 1-17

Week 1 – Steelers over Browns

The Steelers are once again going to be one of the elite teams in the NFL, while the Browns are almost certainly not going to improve that much. It’s going to be fun to see that high-powered Steelers offense go to work in Week 1 against a mediocre Browns D.

Week 2 – Colts over Cardinals

I’m going to try and go with some picks that are not totally obvious here, and in Week 2, I like the Colts at home over the Cardinals. Arizona have a ton of question marks coming into this new season, particularly on offense, where they are quickly getting old.

Week 3 – Panthers over Saints

I have a feeling that this is going to be a big bounce back year for the Panthers, and I believe that they are once again going to be tough to beat at home. If hey slow down Drew Brees, they win this one going away.

Week 4 – Packers over Bears

This will be the Thursday night game in Week 4, with the Bears having the tough task of going into Lambeau Field to try and get the win. This looks to me like the mismatch of the week.

Week 5 – Giants over Chargers

The Chargers look to be a team in a bit of disarray at the moment, and I am really not expecting much from them this season. The Giants look like an 8-8 team to me, but should still be good enough to win this one at home.

Week 6 – Texans over Browns

You may have noticed that I am going heavy with home NFL teams in my picks, but that is not my only criteria. Texans will once again have a great D, and should have little problem shutting down the Browns offense.

Week 7 – Cowboys over 49ers

Not so sure the Cowboys will be as dominant as they were last season, but I still like them to win a bunch of games, including this one on the road versus the hapless 49ers.

Week 8 – Raiders over Bills

The Raiders had a great season last year, and may have done even better had they not lost QB Derek Carr to a broken leg. Oakland destroyed Buffalo last season, and we can expect more of the same this season.

Week 9 – Seahawks over Redskins

We all know how tough the Seahawks are to beat in their own building, and they should be able to get the home win against a Redskins team that might take a step backwards this season.

Week 10 – Lions over Browns

It may seem as though I am being a little tough on Cleveland with these picks, but this is the game that jumps out this week. The Lions were better than expected last season, and I like them to win a close one at home versus the Browns.

Week 11 – Broncos over Bengals

There are a lot of good match-ups in Week 11, and some very tough betting decisions to make. Bit of a coin flip here, but I like the Broncos D to step up at Mile High against the Bengals.

Week 12 – Patriots over Dolphins

How long can Tom Brady continue to play at an elite level? Judging by his performance last season, I would say he still has plenty of gas left in the tank.

Week 13 – Falcons over Vikings

This is one that should feature a great offense against a killer defense, but since Atlanta has the home field edge here, I think it will be the offense that prevails.

Week 14 – Bengals over Bears

It was a down year for Cincinnati last season, and they have a long way to go to catch up to the Steelers in the AFC North. That aside, they should be good enough to beat the Bears at home.

Week 15 – Saints over Jets

Two teams that look destined to miss the playoffs again, but there is one team that looks better than the other here. Brees always plays well at home, so give the nod to the Saints here.

Week 16 – Titans over Rams

Tennessee were a pleasant surprise last season, and they may be ready to take another step forward this year. I like them at home against a very weak LA Rams side.

Week 17 – Ravens over Bengals

There is a good chance that these two NFL teams might be battling it out or a Wild Card spot in the final week of the season. Gotta give the edge to the Ravens at home.
