Why Bet on the Houston Texans Odds at +6.5?
Why bet on the Texans in this Week 13 matchup? Because they’re completely desperate to finish off their season on a positive note and they’re getting almost seven points. Houston has lost four of five, but at least they put up a good effort in their 23-16 Week 12 road loss to Baltimore last weekend. Unfortunately, quarterback Tom Savage cost them with some untimely turnovers that never allowed them to take a lead in a game they were very competitive in. The veteran signal-caller threw two interceptions and lost a fumble in Monday night’s loss to the Ravens. Savage has lost seven fumbles and thrown five interceptions this season since taking over for injured rookie superstar Deshaun Watson. Houston head coach Bill O’Brien hinted this week that he’s prepared to make a change at quarterback if Savage continues to turn the ball over. “I’m really frustrated, to be honest with you,” Savage said. “There’s really no words for it. I don’t want to go out there and throw picks. That’s not my goal. It’s called the NFL. You’re not going to win games turning the ball over.” Since beating the Titans 57-14 in Week 4 with Watson under center, the Texans have lost their prized rookie quarterback, running back D’Onta Foreman, defensive end J.J. Watt and linebacker Whitney Mercilus to season-ending injuries. Houston ranks sixth in scoring (25.7 ppg), thanks mostly to the huge numbers they put up under Watson earlier this season while ranking an uninspiring 28th in points allowed (25.9 ppg). Why Bet on the Tennessee Titans Odds at -6.5?
Why consider the Titans NFL Week 13 Lines? Well, because they’ve got legitimate playoff hopes and are playing a Houston team that has been decimated by injuries. Tennessee has won five of their last six games and comes into this contest off a hard-fought 20-16 win over Indianapolis last weekend, although quarterback Marcus Mariota continued his recent struggles by passing for modest 184 yards with one TD pass, but two costly interceptions. While Mariota is completing a solid 63.1 percent of his passes this season, the third-year franchise signal-caller has also tossed more interceptions (12) than touchdown passes (9). Still, head coach Mike Mularkey has faith in his quarterback. “Just watch how he continues to make throws after interceptions,” Mularkey said. “There’s a lot of guys that can’t overcome those, and I have yet to see him let that affect his play. He made some plays to help us win the game those last two drives.” “We have a lot of football to do,” Mularkey said. “We just have to win one … at a time. I’ll say this, and I’ve said this to our team a number of times. You can’t be concerned about what any other team in this league does. If we win, everything will take care of itself.” Tennessee averages 22.0 points per game (17th) while giving up 24.5 points per game defensively (24th).Latest NFL Betting Trends for Week 13
