NFL Betting Picks to break into the 2019 Playoffs

Written by on June 24, 2019

We are officially now into the summer months, and while that means that the NFL season is still a little while away, it really isn’t as long as you think. Training camps will be opening up across the country before you know it, with the preseason games soon to follow.

A number of teams have made some big changes in the offseason in hopes of seeing a reversal of fortune. Some will fail, but a few others might just reap the fruits of their labor and take a run at the postseason. We are going to take a closer look at 4 teams that might just become a good betting pick when all is said and done no matter what the NFL Odds said about them right now.

NFL Betting Picks to break into the 2019 Playoffs

Washington Redskins

At one point last season, the Redskins were sitting at 6-3 and in control of the NFC East. They looked like a sure playoff bet, but a gruesome season-ending injury to QB Alex Smith seemed to throw the whole team for a loop.

The Redskins went into the NFL draft and landed QB Dwayne Haskins, a talented big quarterback with a ton of upside. It’s never easy for any player to transition from college to the NFL easily, but Haskins has all the tools to make it happen. If he gets some confidence early, look out!!

Detroit Lions

In Matthew Stafford, the Detroit Lions have one of the most efficient QB’s in the league. The problem for Detroit has been getting back into an offensive groove after Calvin Johnson decided to hang up his cleats.

The Lions may just have found a great new target for Stafford, picking up Danny Amendola in the offseason, while also strengthening their team on the defensive side of the football. The Bears are probably going to be the team to beat again in the North, but id Stafford can bounce back from a down year, Detroit could be in the hunt.

Oakland Raiders

There were a ton of big moves in the offseason, but perhaps none bigger than the one that took Antonio Brown from Pittsburgh to Oakland. While QB Derek Carr put up some big passing numbers last season, he simply didn’t get the ball into the endzone often enough, a problem that Brown might be able to solve.

The Raiders look like a good NFL Betting pick to break into the playoffs.

The Raiders also made some moves less flashy than the Brown trade, but they should all help this team move forward. The big concern here is whether Brown will be able to drop the diva attitude and get back to work. Winning could take care of that.

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers were at the top of everyone’s dark horse list last season after ending 2017 with a bang. The trade that took Jimmy Garoppolo to San Francisco looked like a genius move, as he tore things up in a big way to close out that season.

Unfortunately, he blew out a knee in the early part of 2018, effectively derailing the 49ers season in the process. The upside is that they have now had another offseason to make moves and make this team even better for his return. The NFC West could be a little tighter this year, which could be good news for the 49ers.
