The NFL has made an effort for more parity. If the past 16 years is any indication, it’s worked. No team has won back-to-back Super Bowls since the New England Patriots in 2004 and 2005. The trend is against 2020 Super Bowl winning Tampa Bay. It’s not against the below six non-playoff teams from last season. Any of the six could improve enough to call themselves 2021 Vince Lombardi Trophy winners. Check out more information on the six teams that can go from NFL Playoff duds to NFL Playoff studs this season so you can start planning your bets against their NFL Playoffs odds.

Top Potential Playoff Duds to Playoff Studs NFL Teams this Season
San Francisco 49ers
The odds on the Niners to win the Super Bowl have dropped to a co-favorite +1200 with fellow NFC West rival LAR. While the Los Angeles Rams made the playoffs last season, the 49ers were postseason losers. San Francisco went 6-10 in 2020. This season, they figure to go 11-6 at worst. Outside of playing tough division rivals Los Angeles, Seattle, and Arizona, San Francisco gets to battle Jacksonville and Houston, Cincinnati, the Eagles, and Lions. If Jimmy Garoppolo stays healthy, the 49ers should make the playoffs.
Dallas Cowboys
In 2020, the Cowboys fielded one of the worst defenses in football. Dallas couldn’t stop anybody. Knowing this, owner Jerry Jones and coach Mike McCarthy used their first three picks to draft defensive players. The Boys also handed Dak Prescott a massive contract. With their star quarterback happy, Dallas should score at will. If the defense rises to decent level, it doesn’t have to be great, Dallas should roll through their mostly hapless NFC East rivals.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals have a chance if the defense performs well. Also, Kyler Murray figures to take huge strides in his third season. If the preseason NFL MVP contender doesn’t, AZ won’t make the playoffs. But if he does, Arizona should be a playoff squad.
Denver Broncos
Last season, the Broncos weren’t very good. The team went 5-11 and looked out of sorts on both sides of the ball. Why give Denver a chance this season? The defense and offense could take massive leaps. Denver signed Teddy Bridgewater to back up Drew Lock. If Lock doesn’t take a forward step, Bridgewater will be there to save the team. Bradley Chubb could dominate while the cornerbacks, Ronald Darby and Kyler Fuller, are as good as it gets. Don’t sleep on the Equines.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers have one of the best young quarterbacks in the league. In his rookie season, Herbert threw for 4,333 yards, 31 TDs, and only 10 interceptions. The interceptions are even more impressive when we realize that Herbert was one of the most pressured and sacked quarterbacks in the NFL. Opponents flattened Herbert 32 times last season. For a rookie to pick himself up off the grass and deliver a season performance like Herbert did his remarkable.
LAC drafted Northwestern stud left tackle Rashawn Slater. Slater is a Big Ten offensive tackle, which means he’ll know how to protect his QB. Herbert could win the NFL MVP this season if Slater doesn’t get injured. The Bolts could upset the Chiefs and win the AFC West if Slater and Herbert stay healthy.
New England Patriots
Mac Jones must deliver. The Patriots made big moves in the offseason to get better on both sides of the ball. But if Jones, Alabama’s National Championship winning quarterback in 2020, doesn’t come through, the Pats are toast.
If Cam Newton is New England’s QB1, the team may not win more than the 7 games like they did last season. If Jones is the next coming, then New England could challenge the Dolphins and Bills for the AFC East title.
