Broncos & Falcons Lead the NFL Week 6 ATS Picks

Written by on October 10, 2017

Through the first five weeks of the 2017 NFL season, it’s fair to say that no real clear favorite has emerged. The Kansas City Chiefs are the only unbeaten team remaining in the league and therefore should probably be considered the favorites right now. Behind the Chiefs, there are a whole lot of 3-2 teams, which is proving to be good for the impartial football fan, but a little tougher for those of us who love to get in on the betting action around professional football, but we all love a challenge, which is why it’s time to start looking ahead to the NFL Week 6 ATS picks. We will be covering all the games, but let’s get things rolling by looking at some potential ATS winners this weekend, a group led by the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos, both huge favorites to get another W.

Broncos & Falcons Lead the NFL Week 6 ATS Picks

Philadelphia Eagles (+3 ½) vs. Carolina Panthers

The Philadelphia Eagles are quietly putting together a very solid season, going 4-1 and sitting at the top of the NFC East. The Carolina Panthers are sitting on the same record, but have not been entirely convincing through the first five weeks of the season. The meeting between these two teams on Thursday night may well be the match-up of the week, and it is the Eagles who come into this one as a 3 ½ point road underdog. This one should be close and may come down to a field goal to win it, which is why I am leaning on the side of the Eagles to cover.

Latest NFL Week 6 ATS Betting Trends

  • Philadelphia is 6-2 ATS in its last 8 games
  • Philadelphia is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games on the road
  • Eagles are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games when playing Carolina
  • Carolina is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 games
  • Carolina is 1-3-2 ATS in its last 6 games at home

New England Patriots (-9 ½) vs. New York Jets

The New York Jets have been one of the biggest surprises this season, winning 3-straight games to get to a 3-2 record, which just happens to be the same record as the defending Super Bowl Champions. The Patriots have had their issues this season, most notably on defense, where they have been giving up points at a rather alarming rate. Historically, the Jets have been a bit of a bogey team for the Patriots, usually playing them close, but I don’t think we are going to see that this weekend. I like the Patriots to break out and win big on Sunday afternoon, so be sure to include them in your NFL Week 6 ATS Picks.

Latest NFL Week 6 ATS Betting Trends

  • New England is 10-3 ATS in its last 13 games
  • New England is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games on the road
  • Patriots are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games when playing NY Jets
  • New York is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games
  • New York is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games at home
  • Jets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games when playing at home against New England

Atlanta Falcons (-11 ½) vs. Miami Dolphins

There is trouble in Miami, as it appears that the Jay Cutler experiment is not working out. Dolphins fans are growing tired of the ineffectiveness of the Miami offense, which is something that does not bode well for a team about to face one of the best offenses in the league. The Falcons have not been particularly dominating this season, but they should still be more than good enough to handle a struggling Miami outfit. The Falcons are one of the safest NFL Week 6 ATS Picks. I like Atlanta to be on your NFL Week 6 ATS Picks roster because they are going to win by two or more touchdowns. Even if the Dolphins do bench Cutler in favor of the back-up, the result should still be the same.

Latest NFL Week 6 ATS Betting Trends

  • Dolphins are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games
  • Dolphins are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games when playing Atlanta
  • Falcons are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games
  • Falcons are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games at home

Denver Broncos (-12) vs. New York Giants

It has been a disastrous start to the season for the New York Giants, who are winless through their first five games. Further compounding their misery is the fact that they have now lost Odell Beckham Jr. for the season after he suffered a gruesome ankle injury last weekend. This is a team that has had trouble scoring points early in the year, and you now need to wonder how they are going to create any meaningful offense with their biggest playmaker out of the picture. The Denver Broncos have one of the best defensive units in the NFL and should have no issue shutting down the Giants offense. This looks like a very comfortable win for the Broncos and one of the safest NFL Week 6 ATS Picks.

Latest NFL Week 6 ATS Betting Trends

  • New York is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games
  • New York is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Denver
  • Denver is 9-3-1 ATS in its last 13 games at home
