The Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos will both be looking to pick up a confidence-boosting victory when they square off in their Week 9 matchup of AFC playoff longshots on Sunday. Now, with Cleveland looking to snap a three-game skid and Denver looking for a win after dropping two straight, let’s find out which team is offering the best value against their NFL odds in this affair.
Browns vs Broncos 2019 NFL Week 9 Odds, Preview & Pick
- When: Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 4:25 PM ET
- Where: Empower Field at Mile High, Denver, Colorado
- TV: CBS
Why Bet On Cleveland?
While Cleveland has been floundering for the better part of the last month, there are still a few good reasons to back the Browns in this affair. First, Cleveland has the more explosive offense in averaging 19.0 points per game (25th) to Denver’s more modest 15.6 points per contest (28th). Then, there’s the fact that, despite his struggles this season, quarterback Baker Mayfield is way better than veteran counterpart Joe Flacco.
Last but not least, Cleveland also has a bunch of gifted players on both sides of the ball like Odell Beckham Jr., Nick Chubb and Myles Garrett. Last but not least, the Browns are completely and utterly desperate after losing three straight including a humbling 27-13 loss to New England last weekend.

- Average Score Against: 25.67
- Total Yards: 373.50
- Pass Yards: 219.50

Why Bet On Denver?
Despite the fact that Denver has dropped two straight, there are a few good reasons to back the Broncos in this Week 9 affair, starting with the fact that the Browns have been seriously disappointing despite entering this season with some seriously high hopes. Then, there’s the fact that Denver has one of the better defenses in the league and the far better defense in this pairing. The Broncos rank an encouraging eighth in points allowed (18.9 ppg) while also ranking a stellar fourth in total defense and an identical fourth against the pass.

Browns vs Broncos Expert Analysis and Prediction
While I definitely don’t believe the Broncos are the better team in this Week 9 AFC clash, I am going to back Denver to cover the chalk based on the fact that they’re playing at home, have a superior defense and are facing a Browns team that doesn’t seem to have found its identity all season long.
I know the Broncos are a disappointing 5-11-1 ATS in their last 17 home games, but Cleveland has gone an uninspiring 9-23 ATS in their last 32 games in November and a winless 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games on grass. I’m feeling like Denver’s defense is going to get after baker Mayfield while forcing him into at least one costly turnover and possibly two. The Broncos put up a great effort on the road against Indianapolis last weekend before falling on Adam Vinatieri’s 51-yard game winner and I believe they’ll be highly motivated to both, get the win here while keeping Baker Mayfield’s now sealed lips, shut for at least another week.
Pick: Denver 21 Cleveland 17
