Why Bet on Tampa Bay?
The Bucs are off a 13-12 home win over Cleveland. Backup quarterback k Blaine Gabbert suffered a dislocated shoulder in the Bucs’ third preseason game. It’s not clear if Gabbert needs surgery. The good news is the injury is to Gabbert’s non-throwing shoulder, but this is a concern to his Week 1 status. With Nick Fitzgerald (hamstring) also sidelined, the Bucs have only Ryan Griffin behind Jameis Winston.
Chris Godwin corralled four-of-six targets for 52 scoreless yards in the win. Tampa Bay’s offense was out of sync most of the night, though Godwin was still able to show a strong rapport with Winston, who looked to him as his safety valve out of the slot. He was the recipient of Winston’s longest completion, turning a simple screen pass into a 20-yard pick-up down the right sideline. He’s been as good as advertised this preseason, racking up six grabs for 72 yards and a touchdown on eight targets.
Winston completed 9-of-19 throws for 88 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions while adding two rushes for six yards Winston was dropped for five sacks, which amounted to a loss of 29 yards. Winston played the entire first half and shared the field with most of the Bucs’ starting offense, save for Mike Evans, who got the night off. Evans (leg) returned to practice on Monday. There was never any concern for his Week 1 status. Evans is one of just three receivers in league history—the others being Randy Moss and A.J. Green—to clear 1,000 yards in each of his first five seasons.

Why Bet on Dallas?
The Cowboys still are without star running back Ezekiel Elliott as he continues his holdout. Dallas was a 34-0 win over Houston last week. Dak Prescott completed 2-of-5 attempts for 22 yards and a touchdown. Prior to this performance, Prescott had not thrown an incompletion this preseason. He did hit Michael Gallup for a touchdown and nearly completed a few more big plays to the second-year receiver, but drops and penalties got in the way. Prescott closes his preseason completing 11-of-14 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown. Cooper Rush completed 15 of 25 passes for 173 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions With Blake Jarwin, Dalton Schultz, Codey McElroy and Marcus Lucas battling injuries and Jason Witten not playing in Thursday’s preseason finale against Tampa Bay, the Cowboys worked out tight ends Tyrone Swoopes and Zach Conque.
Swoopes played quarterback at Texas and has been on and off Seattle’s practice squad the last two years. Conque, who played quarterback at Stephen F. Austin, was most recently with the Colts.
Tony Pollard took six carries for 26 yards during Saturday’s preseason game against the Texans. The rookie added two catches for 10 yards. He has been impressive and getting plenty of work with Elliott out.

Cedrick Wilson caught three of four targets for 37 yards and returned three punts for 45 yards, including a 32-yard return that set up a one-yard touchdown run for Alfred Morris in the second quarter. Linebacker Joe Thomas blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown in the win. Defensive end Kerry Hyder
