We are only two weeks into the 2018 NFL season, but it’s fair to suggest that a couple of early favorites have emerged from the pack. There are a few surprise teams in the mix, but also a couple who we expected to be at the front of the pack from the off. The LA Rams are unbeaten through their opening games of the season, which is not totally unexpected given that they went all in financially to build a team designed to win the Super Bowl.
They have looked very good through the opening two weeks of the season, but they will have their hands full this weekend when their city neighbors come calling to the LA Memorial Coliseum. The Chargers have made a bad habit of getting off to a slow start over the past few seasons, and while they have not totally ditched that trend, they are at least coming into this game having picked up their first win of the season last week. The Rams are in as a 7 ½ point favorite for this one, with the point total set at 48 ½.
The Rams are a perfect 2-0 to start the season, outscoring the opposition 67-13 in those two games. They have covered the spread in both of those games, taking their ATS record to just 5-11-1 in their last 17 games. They were not particularly adept at covering the spread last year, but that trend appears to have shifted, at least in the early going.

Why bet on the LA Chargers?
The Chargers saw their season get off to a losing start once again, going down 38-28 to the Kansas City Chiefs and their high-powered offense. Despite that loss, Phillip Rivers and the Chargers offense looked very sharp, and they were on fire again in Week 2, taking out the Buffalo Bills in a 31-20 win in a victory that was a lot more comfortable than the final score suggests. The Chargers have proven to be a fantastic bet ATS, going 10-4 in their last 14 games. They have been particularly good in road games, covering the spread in 4 of their last 5 games away from home. Where they have not done well is on the road against the Rams, where they are just 1-4 SU in their last 5 visits.Team Stats

Why bet on the LA Rams?
It really is a case of Super Bowl or bust for the Rams. They had a fantastic regular season in 2017, but they were bounced in the first round of the playoffs. The front office spent a lot of money bringing in some great talent in an effort to put this team over the top and it looks as though that investment is paying off.
