Why bet on the San Francisco 49ers?
The San Francisco 49ers are a long way off from the team that dominated the NFL in the 1980’s, and while a front office shakeup took place in an attempt to return this team to former glory, it is going to take some time to get this sinking ship back afloat. While the 49ers are 0-4 to start this season, it should be noted that 3 of those 4 losses have been by 3 points or less, that’s why the NFL Week 5 Odds are so close. They were blown out by Carolina in Week 1, but have been in every game since, and are perhaps a little unfortunate to still be winless. It has been low scoring games that have been the order of the day for San Francisco, and the one time that they did manage to explode offensively, they still lost 41-39 to the LA Rams. The 49ers have had difficulty winning for a while now, and are an awful 1-11 in their last 12 games on the road. They are also just 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 road games. Not very much to like there.Team Statistics

Why bet on the Indianapolis Colts?
The loss of Andrew Luck to a shoulder injury has had the negative impact we expected on this team, but backup QB Jacoby Brissett should be given some credit. He was the man under center in the only win that the Colts have recorded this season, and he kept his team competitive for close to here quarters in a loss on the road to Seattle last week. Brissett is certainly no Andrew Luck, but he has a mobility and arm strength that could cause some real problems for the 49ers defense, one of the reasons they are the NFL Week 5 Odds favorites. The Colts have had to endure a couple of blowouts this season, and their lone win came against a very poor Cleveland Browns team, but it’s also fair to suggest that these 49ers might be on a par with the Browns, which means the Colts have a legitimate shot this weekend. The Colts are 2-2 ATS this season, and 6 of their last 7 home games have gone UNDER the point total.Team Statistics
