Why Bet On Atlanta at +1?

The best reason to back the Falcons is because they looked like a completely different team in their 24-20 Week 2 win over Philly than they did in their humbling 28-12 season-opening loss against Minnesota.

Matt Ryan passed for 330 hards and although he threw three interceptions, he also tossed three TD passes to lead Atlanta to the narrow win.

Defensively, the Falcons picked off Carson Wentz twice and held the Eagles to just 49 rushing yards in the win.

Why Bet On Indianapolis at -1?

The best reason to back the Colts is because they’ve been surprisingly competitive despite seeing franchise quarterback Andrew Luck call it quits just before the start of the regular season. Backup, turned started Jacoby Brissette has completed a blistering 69.1 percent of his passesthrough two games for 336 yards with five touchdowns and one interception. Brissett tossed three TD passes and Indy’s defense held Marcus Mariots to just 154 passing yards in the Colts’ 19-17 Week 2 win over Tennessee. Defensively, Pro Bowl linebacker Darius Leonard already has 18 tackles.

Expert Analysis and Prediction for Falcons vs Colts

I’ll get right to the point by saying that all sings in this contest are pointing to a narrow Colts win and ATS cover. First, the favorite in this series has gone 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. In addition to that, the Falcons are an uninspiring 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Conversely, the Colts are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games in September, 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games on fieldturf and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Outside of the ATS trends, I like the way that Jacoby Brissette is playing and I have a bunch of respect for Colts head coach Frank Reich, who should be getting mentioned as one of the brighter coaches around after his fantastic debut season a year ago.

The Falcon smanaged to get past Philadelphia last weekend, but the Birds blew a golden opportunity to get the victory when Nelson Agholor dropped a sure-fire TD pass from Carson Wentz.

I’m going with Jacoby Brissett and the Colts to keep up their competitive play to hold it down at home as a 1-point favorite in this one!

Pick: Indianapolis -1
