With 2 games in the books, we are midway through the 2019 NFL preseason, with the third game that each team plays usually the one where decisions start to be made. Players that have yet to leave a lasting impression on their respective coaching staffs are likely down to their final shot, as rosters will start getting trimmed after Week 3. Besides simply trying to survive and make a roster, there are other battles going on in the preseason, with veteran players trying to hold off rookies to maintain a starting position.
We already know where a lot of those battles will lie, but there are also others that will develop over the course of training camp. The New York Giants have one of those battles going on, with veteran QB Eli Manning not necessarily guaranteed to start this season. The question is whether Daniel Jones will be able to do enough to claim that starting spot. He will get another shot to shine when the Giants take to the road to face the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night. The Bengals are slight NFL Betting favorites for Thursday Night.

Why bet on the New York Giants?
After a 31-22 win over the Jets in the opening week of the preseason, all the buzz out of the Giants training camp was about QB Daniel Jones. The Giants are in desperate need of a successor to Manning, and the feeling was that they might just have found him. We all know not to get too carried away with a single performance in preseason, especially one that is little more than a small sampling.
The Giants fans may have a little more reason to be excited now after Jones went 11-14 for 161 yards and a TD in a 32-13 win over the Bears in Week 2. Not to be outdone, Manning went 4-4 for 42 yards and a TD in that outing, so he is not quite ready to give way to the rookie just yet. The Giants are a perfect 7-0 ATS in their last 7 road games and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 August games.

Why bet on the Cincinnati Bengals?
This will be a welcome return home for a Bengals team that has now played 4 straight games on the road. They closed out last season with back to back road games before starting the preseason with a pair of games away from home. It was a rather unsurprising 38-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs to get things started this year, which Cincinnati then followed up with a 23-13 win over a Washington Redskins team that looks to be in trouble this season.
In Cincinnati, the big battel there is for the role of back-up QB, with Ryan Finley making a bit of a case for himself. He went 20-26 for 150 yards and 2 TD’s in the win. The Bengals are 7-0 SU in the last 7 home games versus the Giants.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction for Giants vs Bengals
This is likely going to be the battle of the back-ups here, as both Jones and Finley looking to further impress this week. It has been the UNDER that has been the usual outcome when these two meet, but I think we are going to see some offense here.
