After soaring to a stunning 10-6 mark in 2018 that included one huge playoff upset, Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts are completely revitalized! Now, as they get set for the upcoming 2019 campaign, there’s only one question surrounding the Colts that football fans and betting enthusiasts need to answer. Will Luck and the Colts soar again in 2019 or will Year 2 of the Frank Reich era be a lot more difficult now that the Colts are squarely in the bullseye?
If you’re an NFL fan and betting enthusiast that wants to maximize your NFL futures odds wager on just how many games Indianapolis is going to win in 2019, then consider your ticket punched! Thanks to the expert NFL predictions that you’re about to get on each and every game on Carolina’s upcoming 2019 docket, you’re going to have a great idea of just how the Colts will fare against their NFL win total odds.
Indianapolis finished as stellar sixth in passing as Luck returned from missing the entire 2017 season with a campaign for the ages. Indianapolis does need to improve a rushing attack that ranked a modest 20th, but they still finished fifth in scoring (27.1 ppg) as Luck finished with the most efficient year of his career by posting a 98.7 passer rating and completing 67.3 percent of his passes to set career highs in both categories.
Luck also finished second only to Patrick Mahomes in touchdown passes with 39. He was elite in the red zone as well racking up 33 touchdown passes and just one interception inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. Defensively, Indianapolis ranked 16th against the pass, eighth against the run and a solid 10th in points allowed (221.5 ppg).
To address their offseason needs the Colts drafted Temple cornerback Rock Ya-Sin with the second pick in the second round before adding TCU linebacker Ben Banogu and Ohio State wide receiver Parris Campbell with the 17th and 27th pick in the second round respectively.
The Colts also made a huge free agent pickup by adding former Chiefs Pro Bowl defensive end Justin Houston and former Panthers wide receiver Devin Funchess among others.
Indianapolis Colts 2019 NFL Season Win/Loss Total Odds & Prediction
- Indianapolis Colts 2019 Win Total Odds: 9.5
- 2018 Wins: 10
Week 1 at L.A. Chargers
The Colts won 10 games last season, but the Chargers won a dozen games and they’re playing at home. More importantly, while there aren’t many quarterbacks in the same class of elite signal-callers that Andrew Luck resides in, borderline future hall of Famer Philip Rivers is. I’m going with the Bolts to take care of business in their regular season and home opener. Loss. 0-1.
Week 2 at Tennessee
The Colts swept the Titans last season while putting 38 and 33 points on the board in Tennessee and at home in Weeks 11 and 17 and I believe the Colts are the pick to pull off the big road win against their AFC South division rivals. Simply put, Marcus Mariota just hasn’t shown that he can quite become the franchise quarterback that the Titans are still hoping he can turn into. Win. 1-1.
Week 3 vs. Atlanta
I’m going to say the Colts get the big home win over Matt Ryan and the Falcons in a flat-out shootout that sees both teams put at least 35 points on the board. 2-1.
Week 4 vs. Oakland
I don’t know how else to say it, but Derek Carr and the rebuilding Raiders are going down and going down hard in this Week 4 matchup. Win. 3-1.
Week 5 at Kansas City
Indianapolis will be looking for revenge for their humbling 38-28 season-opening home loss against the Chiefs last season, but they’re not going to get it as Patrick Mahomes and company take care of business at home in this intriguing Week 5 matchup of expected legitimate AFC Super Bowl contenders. Loss. 3-2.
Week 6 BYE
Week 7 vs. Houston
The Colts and Texans split their two regular season meetings with each franchise winning by a field goal on the other’s home turf. This time around, both AFC South rivals win at home…by a field goal! Win. 4-2.
Week 8 vs. Denver
Indy wins again at home against a Broncos team that still has a question mark under center of you ask me. Win. 5-2.
Week 9 at Pittsburgh
The Steelers might not have Le’Veon bell or Antonio Brown, but I still like the AFC North contenders to take care of business at home in this Week 9 meeting of Super Bowl hopefuls. Loss. 5-3.
Week 10 vs. Miami
The Dolphins got a big-time steal by acquiring quarterback Josh Rosen from Arizona, but the rebuilding AFC South residents won’t be getting the road upset in this Week 10 meeting with Luck and company locked in as they approach the final six weeks of the regular season. Win. 5-4.
Week 11 vs. Jacksonville
Indianapolis beat Jacksonville 29-26 at home in Week 10 last year as part of a regular season split and I like the Colts to hold it down at home against the Jags as part of another split in 2019. Win. 6-4.
Week 12 at Houston
Deshaun Watson and company get their revenge for their Week 7 loss to the Colts. Loss, 6-5.
Week 13 vs. Tennessee
As Rob Base once sang…It takes two to make a thing go right! The Colts beat the Titans for the second time. Win. 7-5.
Week 14 at Tampa Bay
There’s no way that Jameis Winston outplays Andrew Luck is there? No, but the Bucs are going to put up a real fight before narrowly falling. Win. 8-5.
Week 15 at New Orleans
One of the game’s living legends leads New Orleans to the huge home win down in the Big Easy as Drew Brees outguns Luck in a thriller! Loss. 8-6.
Week 16 vs. Carolina
Luck and the Colts get back in the win column as Indy’s franchise signal-caller outplays Carolina’s Cam Newton. Win. 9-6.
Week 17 at Jacksonville
I’ve got Jacksonville taking care of business on their home turf in their regular season finale. Loss. 9-7.
While I like Indianapolis to be quite good in 2019, I’ve got Indy falling just short of recording double digit victories in 2019 although I can definitely see it happening. Either way, the Colts have a touch win total odds figure. Just know this one is going to be close NFL betting enthusiasts!
