The Rams had a horrible follow-up season to their Super Bowl win in 2022. It was so bad that LAR projects as one of the worst teams in the NFL in 2023. But is that true?
Will the Rams suffer an even worse fate this season than last? If the Rams have any shot of making the playoffs it will be because the offense picks it up.
Check out an in-depth NFL betting lines and analysis for the Los Angeles Rams’ offense.

Rams’ Offensive Changes During the Offseason
The Rams didn’t make many changes to their offense. In fact, the Rams made zero changes to their starting offense save for resigning Sony Michel to back up Cam Akers and drafting Steve Avila from TCU in the second round to play guard.
Outside of those two changes, the Rams offense is a mirror of last season’s unit. One change, if we can call it that, is quarterback Matthew Stafford is healthy this season.
Los Angeles Rams Quarterbacks Analysis
Speaking of Stafford, his days as a top flight quarterback appear to be over. Staff suffered numerous nagging injuries in 2022.
But we can’t just blame injuries for Stafford’s atrocious stats. The 2022 Super Bowl winning quarterback threw 2,087 yards. Matthew tossed 10 TDs and 8 interceptions.
Unless the Rams surprise, 2023 is likely to be Stafford’s final season.
Los Angeles Rams Offensive Line Analysis
The offensive line was bad in 2022. Since the only change was at guard where the Rams will start a rookie, it’s difficult to see the line improving much in 2023.
Sean McVay is going to have to pull rabbits out of his hat all season long to protect his quarterbacks. The O-line tries hard, but there isn’t a top player at any of the five positions.
Los Angeles Rams Wide Receivers Room Analysis
Tight-end Tyler Higbee and wide receiver Cooper Kupp are two of the best at their respective positions. Kupp won NFL Offensive Player of the Year for the 2021-2022 season.
When Cooper is healthy, he’s uncoverable. Higbee can dominate. Both will be counted on to get it done for LAR in 2023.
Los Angeles Rams Running Backs Room Analysis
Cam Akers and Sony Michel are decent running backs but the pair play behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league.
So it doesn’t matter how talented Cam and Sony are individually, if they don’t get the blocking up front, neither will perform well.
LAR Points Scored & Yards Per Game Range Prediction
The Rams averaged 280.5 total yards per game in 2022. The average ranked thirty-second in the league.
Los Angeles scored an average of 18.1 points each game last season. The average ranked twenty-seventh in the NFL. Although we’d like to write LAR improves in both categories in 2023, they won’t.
Rams Yard Per Game Range: 270 – 290
Rams Points Scored Range: 17 – 19
WR Cooper Kupp to Win NFL Offensive Player of the Year: +2000
Kupp is a magician when he gets the pigskin, but how often will he get a chance to show his stuff? The Rams’ quarterback room is a mess.
Stafford appears to be in his last season and there is no heir apparent. Los Angeles could mail it in this season. So backing any player to win an individual award isn’t wise.
At the 20-to-1 odds, Cooper Kupp is an underlay. Unless the Rams rebuild their offensive line from now until week 1, Kupp won’t do enough to touch the Offensive Player of the Year award.
Los Angeles Rams First Game Odds of the Season
Rams +5.5; Seahawks -5.5 / Rams +187; Seahawks -234 / O/U 47
