Last Season Match-ups
Keep in mind that neither starting QB for Sunday played in this series last year. In Week 9 in Miami, the Dolphins won 27-23. Kenyan Drake scored untouched on a 96-yard kickoff return with 5:15 left for the winning points. Jay Ajayi came up short in his bid to become the first NFL rusher to have three consecutive 200-yard games, but he managed 111 yards and helped to run out the clock after the Dolphins came from behind. In Week 15 at the Jets, the Dolphins won 34-13. In his first start since Jan. 1, 2012, current Miami backup QB Matt Moore threw a career-high four TD passes. He hit Dion Sims for a pair of 1-yard TDs and Kenny Stills for 52 and Jarvis Landry for 66. The game was competitive for a half.Tampa Bay at Minnesota NFL Week 3 Odds, Game Preview & Pick

Why consider Miami Dolphins in the NFL Lines?
They are simply better and getting less than a touchdown is surprising. The Fins won at the Chargers 19-17 last week when L.A.’s rookie kicker missed a 44-yard field goal with five seconds left. In his Miami debut, QB Jay Cutler completed 24-of-33 passes for 230 yards and one touchdown. Cutler was extremely efficient and didn’t make any mistakes. Cutler seems pretty comfortable in the offense after joining the team just six weeks ago and his ability to change tempos, from huddle to half-huddle or no-huddle, could be beneficial. Jarvis Landry caught 13-of-15 targets for 78 yards. Landry saw 45% of Cutler’s 33 pass attempts. For a team that allowed a league-worst 4.8 yards per carry last season, the Dolphins looked good against the run. Miami emerged from Sunday’s win allowing just 3.1 yards per carry, 7th best in the league. What’s more, after relinquishing 140 yards per game on the ground last season, Miami allowed just 44 on Sunday. The Miami Dolphins played that game without starting linebacker Lawrence Timmons in a weird scene as he went AWOL from the club. Timmons signed a two-year, $10 million contract in March, but he has not played a regular-season game. He was expected to start but has since been suspended indefinitely. Backup linebacker and special-teamer Chase Allen started in place of Timmons and had four tackles against the Chargers. In light of Timmons’ suspension, the Dolphins acquired linebacker Stephone Anthony in a trade with the Saints. Miami is sending a 2018 fifth-round pick to New Orleans for Anthony. Anthony was a first-round pick for New Orleans in 2015; he has not played yet this season because of an ankle injury.Team Statistics

Why consider NY Jets in the NFL Lines?
The Jets are predictably 0-2 but haven’t played at home yet. They lost 45-20 in Week 2 at Oakland. Josh McCown threw a pair of TD passes to Jermaine Kearse in the loss. The Jets’ pass protection seemed solid, but the stats suggest otherwise. The Raiders defense pressured McCown on 16 of his 32 dropbacks (50%), tied for their highest pressure percentage since 2009. The Raiders vaunted offensive line won the matchup against New York’s front four, allowing no sacks and helping clear holes for a 180-yard rushing performance. The Jets allowed touchdowns of 26, 43 and 52 yards, the latter two on the ground. All told, they surrendered 410 total yards, putting the team in a 14-0 hole and wearing down in the fourth quarter. The Jets have allowed 818 yards in two games. Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins is eligible to return from two-game suspension this week. New offensive coordinator John Morton wants to use tight ends in the passing game more than his predecessor, Chan Gailey, did. (Gailey barely used them at all.) But rookie Jordan Leggett (knee) missed the first two games, as Seferian-Jenkins sat out. So the Jets were significantly lacking at tight end. The Jets are entering the softest stretch on their schedule — relatively speaking. If they fall to 0-5 by losing to the Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns, they will stamp themselves as legitimate contenders for 0-16.Team Statistics
