We are almost now at the end of May, which means that we are a matter of days away from the official start of business in the 2021 NFL season. That, of course, does not mean on the field business, but rather when teams can start making roster moves again. There are a lot of big-name players out there rumored to be heading to new homes, so it is tough to offer up lasting analysis on the upcoming season until all the rosters are finally set. Still, it’s exciting to be talking football again, which is why we are looking ahead at what may come for every team in the league this season. For this piece, we are turning our attention to the LA Rams so you can plan your bets against their NFL odds.

The Rams in 2020
It was, all in all not a terrible year for the Rams in 2020, as they did more than a lot of people expected. They were in a tight divisional race for much of the season, and while they came up a little short there, they still did enough to punch their ticket into the playoffs via the Wild Card. They did manage one win in the postseason before bowing out, and while it was a mostly positive year, the Rams still believed they needed to make a move to get over the hump, which we will discuss a little later.
When all was said and done and the smoke had cleared on the 2020 regular season, the Rams found themselves in 2nd in the West at 10-6, trailing the Seattle Seahawks. They got revenge on their division rivals by beating them in the playoffs before seeing their season end in the NFC Divisional Round with a loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Odds to Make the Playoffs and Win the Super Bowl
At the end of last season, the feeling was that the Rams were ready to close the book on QB Jared Goff. Their final positioning on the season meant that getting a new QB via the draft was not going to happen, so they chose to swing a deal with the Detroit Lions, send Goff to the Motor City in exchange for Matthew Stafford. It was a move that immediately got Rams fans excited about the coming season, although there are still some concerns about the durability of Stafford. If he can stay healthy, though, this is going to be a team to look out for. At the very least, they should nab a playoff spot, which is something the bookies agree with, as this is how they see the Rams chances:
If Stafford had made it to this point in his career by mostly avoiding injuries, the odds of the Rams making it in would probably be that much better. There are also some concerns about how they might look on the defensive side of the football after losing some key players, but overall, this is still a team that looks like a potential division winner. I think we are looking at a team that could be winning 12 or 13 games this season.
Getting out of a very solid NFC is not going to be easy at all, but with a proven QB at the helm, the Rams have a legitimate shot. The bookies have them at +1100 to win the Super Bowl right now.
