You can argue that, in some parts of the country at least, that some home teams will get a bit of advantage once the calendar rolls over into December. Some teams are used to playing on snow-covered fields and frigid temperatures, while others are used to indoor stadiums or warmer climates. That is where we will be in Week 13 of the NFL season this year, with the holiday season upon us in a matter of days. 13 could also prove to be an unlucky week for several teams, as this is usually the stage of the season when we begin to see teams start to get officially eliminated from playoff contention. The race for the #1 seed in each conference will also start to heat up in the final few weeks, so let’s take a look at some of the bigger games on the Week 13 NFL schedule so you can wager on their NFL odds.
2020 NFL Betting Preview for Games in Week 13
Dallas Cowboys at Baltimore Ravens
It was around this time last season that the wheels started to come off for the Dallas Cowboys, as they went into a late season slump that allowed the Philadelphia Eagles to pass them and make it into the playoffs. There was no such slump for the Baltimore Ravens, who went on to deliver a 14-2 regular season, although we all know how things went for them in the playoffs. Both of these teams are coming into the season with something to prove, so this Thursday night game should be a great way to kick off Week 13.
New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons
To say that the NFC South is going to be interesting this year is perhaps a bit of an understatement. It has been the New Orleans Saints who have had control of the division for the last couple of seasons, but they may have a tougher time of things this year. That is, of course, assuming that Tom Brady can make a difference in Tampa Bay, and that the Atlanta Falcons can once again rise up and challenge for the top spot. Both of those are things that we won’t know until the season begins, but I have a feeling that this game is going to have an impact on the playoff standings.
LA Rams at Arizona Cardinals
The NFC West is another division that could be an interesting contest. The expectation is that the Seahawks and 49ers will be battling it out for division supremacy, but these two teams might just have something to say about that. While the Rams missed the playoffs last season after going to the Super Bowl the year before, they were still 9-7. The Cardinals have been in rebuilding mode, but they added some pieces in the offseason that could see them take another step in the right direction. This has the potential to be a big game.
Buffalo Bills at San Francisco 49ers
If we are to assume that the New England Patriots might crumble after losing Tom Brady, the question that needs to be asked is which team will take their place at the top of the AFC East? You could make a very solid argument for the Buffalo Bills there, as they were playoff bound last season before making an early exit. Where they stand in the overall NFC picture remains to be seen this coming season, but this will be a very good test for them on Monday night in Week 13.
