NFL Preseason Parlay Picks for Week 1 Weekend Games

Written by on August 11, 2017

Can the rebuilt and rejuvenated Los Angeles Rams get the big home win against Dal Prescott. Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys during this NFL preseason? Will Carson Palmer and the playoff-hopeful Arizona Cardinals put a little extra effort into trying to get the home win against Derek Carr and the Super Bowl-hopeful Oakland Raiders? Furthermore, we have included at MyBookie several updated betting odds and lines for NFL preseason games that will take place this weekend, so make sure to check on them. Last but not least, can the Indianapolis Colts hold down the fort at home against the Detroit Lions although starting quarterback Andrew Luck might sit out Indy’s preseason opener? If you like string wagers together as part of a potentially, bankroll-boosting parlay, then I’ve got a trio of weekend Week 1 preseason picks that will both, answer the aforementioned questions while showing you where the value lies in all three matchups. Okay, let’s get started.

Analyzing the Parlay Picks NFL Preseason Week 1 Weekend Games

Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams

When: Saturday, August 12 at 9:00 PM ET Where: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum TV: NFL Network Radio: Sirius XM Radio Stream Option: NFL Game Pass NFL Preseason Odds: Dallas -2.5 / Total: 37.5 GAMETIME WEATHER Clear 22°C/72°F Humidity 74% Precipitation % 2% Cloud Cover 1% Wind 3 mph SW Stadium Type Open Analysis: While the Cowboys beat the Arizona cardinals in the Hall of Fame game last week, you should know that Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is just 10-16 in his career in the preseason. More importantly, I believe the revamped Rams, led the youngest head coach in league history in Sean McVay and 2016 No. 1 overall draft pick Jared Goff, will go all-out a bit more than Dallas to get the ‘feel-good’ win in this opener and build some confidence for the regular season. While Dallas has gone 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings against the Rams, the home team in this series is an identical 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings, making the young Rams the pick to get the win and narrow ATS cover in their opener. NFL Preseason Pick: Los Angeles 24 Dallas 21

Oakland Raiders at Arizona Cardinals

When: Saturday, August 12 at 10:00 PM ET Where: University of Phoenix Stadium TV: NFL Network Radio: Sirius XM Radio Stream Option: NFL Game Pass NFL Preseason Odds: Arizona -3 / Total: 39.5 GAMETIME WEATHER Partly Cloudy 33°C/92°F Humidity 44% Precipitation % 15% Cloud Cover 51% Wind 8 mph WSW Stadium Type Retractable Analysis: While I wish this meeting between the two Super Bowl hopefuls were a regular season affair, I guess I’ll just have to take it for what it is. Derek Carr won’t play very long before giving way to backups Connor Cook and E.J. Manuel while Arizona’s Carson Palmer will also play sparingly before departing for backups Drew Stanton and Blaine Gabbert. While the Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings, the Cardinals are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 Saturday games. More importantly, I like Arizona to get the home win after losing their Hall of Fame game matchup against Dallas last week. With the Over going 8-3 in Oakland’s last 11 games and a perfect 7-0 in Arizona’s last seven games, I like the Over 39.5 total points as well. NFL Preseason Pick: Arizona 24 Oakland 21

Detroit Lions at Indianapolis Colts

When: Sunday, August 13 at 1:30 PM ET Where: Lucas Oil Stadium TV: NFL Network Radio: Sirius XM Radio Stream Option: NFL Game Pass NFL Preseason Odds: Pick ‘Em / Total: 37.5 GAMETIME WEATHER Partly Cloudy 24°C/75°F Humidity 42% Precipitation % 0% Cloud Cover 45% Wind 4 mph ENE Stadium Type Retractable Analysis: While I’m pretty sure this will be the last season in Detroit for Jim Caldwell and the final campaign in Indy for Chuck Pagano, this game still has to be played and someone has to win. After Matthew Stafford leaves for the Lions, backups Jake Rudock and Brad Kaaya will come in to finish up this NFL preseason. After Matthew Stafford leaves for the Lions, backups Jake Rudock and Brad Kaaya will come in to finish up while Indianapolis likely won’t start Andrew Luck because of a bum throwing shoulder, leaving the outcome in the hands of Scott Tolzien, Phillip Walker and Stephen Morris. While the Lions are just 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games, Indianapolis is an uninspiring 1-4 ATS in their last five home games. With the road team in this series going 4-0 ATS and Detroit having the better backup quarterbacks, I like the Lions for the outright road win. NFL Preseason Pick: Detroit 23 Indianapolis 21

Preseason NFL Week 2 Sure Winners

Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Chargers

Sunday, August 13 at 8:00 PM ET StubHub Center, Carson, California TV: NFL Network Radio: Sirius XM Radio Stream Option: NFL Game Pass NFL Preseason Odds: L.A. Chargers -1.5 / Total: 38 GAMETIME WEATHER Clear 22°C/72°F Humidity 77% Precipitation % 2% Cloud Cover 3% Wind 7 mph W Stadium Type Open Analysis: Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll may be 18-10 in his career in the preseason, but I like the relocated Los Angeles Chargers to get the home win and ATS cover as small, 1.5-point home favorite in their preseason opener. I like L.A. addition of strong-armed former Buffalo Bills quarterback Cardale Jones and I believe he will outplay Seattle backups Trevone Boykin and Austin Davis to help the Chargers kick off their new era in style, even if it is a mostly meaningless preseason affair. The Seahawks are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games while the underdog in this inter-conference rivalry is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings. NFL Preseason Pick: San Diego 24 Seattle 17
