2020 Super Bowl rivals Kansas City and San Francisco step onto the field for the first time this season when they clash in preseason game on August 14. Neither team figures to send their starting quarterbacks to the field. Most starters will stay on the bench for this one. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t handicap the game and pick a winner. Why bet on Kansas City versus San Francisco
Although we don’t predict any starter on the depth chart to play on Saturday, Andy Reid could surprise us. The Chiefs have an entirely new offensive line. One of the most difficult things for a coach to accomplish is to get 5 offensive line players to gel. Reid might start his new offensive line, or at lest give the first team unit playing time. If the line has already gelled, KC could run their way to a straight up win.

Why bet on San Francisco against Kansas City
49ers’ coach Kyle Shanahan is likely to allow third-string quarterback Josh Rosen to play the entire game. He may also let Rosen play behind the first-team or second-team offensive line. Entering his rookie season, many thought he was the best quarterback drafted. If he shows up and plays the way he can, San Francisco should cover the spread.

Final Betting Analysis: Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers
Shanahan might give Rosen a lot of playing time. One of the things San Francisco must figure out is what to do with Jimmy Garoppolo. The idea is to have Jimmy G. start this season while Trey Lance gets up to speed.
If Rosen proves he can backup Lance, who knows? The Niners might try and trade Garoppolo either before Week 1 or sometime during the season and play Lance sooner than many expect.
But although Rosen figures to get the start, he may not play as well as Chad Henne. KC’s backup is one of the most reliable QB2s in the NFL. Henne, should Reid allow it, can dominate San Francisco’s second string defense. Chiefs on the money line looks solid.
